My life...

It all began long time ago in a country far far away from here...
I took a first peek at the world twenty years ago on December 25-th 1980. It seemed like an interesting world at the time; new faces, new colors, smells, sounds, all the things that this life is worth living for were there. Even now after enjoying those things for over twenty years, I still find them amazing and worth being here.
I was born in a small city called Valjevo in Serbia. In case the name of my country is totally new term for you let me just tell you that it is a beautiful country filled with variety of amazing landscapes, good people and good beer!!! If you want find out more about my country, you can follow this link and find all the answers to your questions about Serbia.
But back to me! I was born on the date Catholic Church considers as a birth of Jesus Christ, but since I am a Eastern Orthodox Christian (there are couple of major differences between Orthodox and Catholic Church calendars) I AM NOT the Savior:) or at least my Father didn't let me know yet. Anyhow like I said, I was born in Serbia in a city called Valjevo. Beautiful little city with a lot of history under it's ancient stones. I grew up in a very healthy environment, surrounded by nice and inteligent people. When Iwas six months old I moved to a city called Uzice where I spent ten happy years of my life. After finishing fourth grade I moved back to Valjevo where I spent the rest of the nine years I lived in Serbia. I gratuated two high schools in Valjevo - Electro technical high school and Gymansium.
There is not a whole lot I could say about the first ten years of my life except that I had a happy childhood and a lot friends. I was always good in school unlike my older brother who was always a problematic student hahaha. Well obviuosly I have an older brother. His name is Alexandar and he is twenty six years old. He has three kids and is happily married. And yeah, he still live in Serbia with his family.
But the real story about what I consider the more important part of my life begins nine years ago after I moved to Valjevo. The beggining of the story is the ussual adaptation process. The first year was pretty hard and is not worth talking about here, but in the sixth grade I met people that became my friends and forever will be my friends. I've met Bosko (who later became my best friend) in the grade school, and since he was a drummer and I was trying to play bass guitar, we decided to form a band. So due to our low musical skills at the time, we formed a punk band. As the time passed by, we evolved as musicians and decided that punk was not challenging enough, so we joined a death metal band called Amon Din. Joining this band was one of the most important things and decisions I've ever made and from that point my life changed entirely. The story is as follows:
AMON DIN Story
The band started it's modest adventure in the summer of 1995. After rehearsing the written songs for couple of months we played our first show. As it usually is, our first show was a disaster. Many problems occured and one of them being not having a drummer for the show (don't even ask). But that didn't discourage us at all. We continued practising and shortly after that there was another show scheduled. Of course this show was much better than the first one, which gave us the strenght to work harder than ever. Many shows followed throughout nexy couple of years across the country with a total of over fifty shows played so far. In January 1996 we recorded our first demo (note here that I am talking about my ex-band from Serbia) which was a big step, even though the sound quality was pretty low, but it opened new doors and frontiers for us as a band - radio stations, festivals, magazines... The story goes on with a lot of new songs written (a lot of old ones never played again), a lot of shows played, couple of personal changes inside the band (the keyboard player and guitarist left the badn and new members joined) and finally after five years the band entered professional studio to record debut album. It took us couple of months and a lot of beer and food to finish the recording process. Everything went more than well (except for the fact that my country was bombed by America and other "peaceful" countries of the world, but that is a different story) and we were ready to raise hell on the stages of our country. We won all the competitions on radio stations, reached number one charts on all main radio stations and stayed there for months. The recording was followed with a good artwork and good promotion, so band ended up touring the country. Couple of months later I announced that I am leaving the country, the band and everything else I considered sacred and worth living for. I was moving to United States. That was beyond hardest decision I will ever make for the rest of my life. The band ended up finding a temporary replacement (he is a permanent member now), with a lot of warm and comforting words for me. We played our last show together in the February 2000. The show was organized for my departure and in my hohour "for being a great friend and band mate for such a long time". There ends the Amon Din story (the story is ofcourse much much longer, but I don't want to choke you with my memories too much), but my life just took a sharp turn after that and that is the next part of MY LIFE story.
