Eric: Hey, Reggie, let's play some chess. *holds up folded board*
Reggie: Er...is that anything like checkers?
Eric: You never played chess?
Reggie: Just kidding. Sure I have. Let's play.
*some time later*
Reggie: Heeheehee...*moves a piece*
Eric: Okay, Reggie. *moves*
Reggie: I'll have you checkmated your next move.
Eric: Maybe we should have played checkers.
Reggie: *grins*
*knock on the door*
Eric: I'll get it.
*Cryptic is at the door, Eric lets him in*
Eric: You didn't have to knock. You could have just teleported in.
Cryptic: That would be impolite. I see you're playing chess. Who's winning?
Reggie: I am. *giggles* Eric's about to be checkmated.
Cryptic: It would be unwise to declare the game over yet. One of the unique things about chess is how a shrewd player can change the balance of the game.
Eric: *moves his bishop to capture Reggie's pawn, his king is in line with the bishop* Check, Reggie.
Reggie: Gah!
Cryptic: As I was saying. *leans over table to study game*
Reggie: *moves king back* There!
Eric: *moves his rook in line with the king* Check.
Reggie: You...*moves king down*
Eric: *moves bishop* Check, Reggie. I've got you.
Reggie: Cryptic, help me!
Cryptic: *shakes head* I cannot.
Reggie: I concede.
Eric: *captures Reggie's king* Checkmate. But it was a good game, Reggie.
Reggie: I prefer checkers.
Eric: You suggest a game, Cryptic. One we can all play.
Cryptic: Monopoly?
*an hour later*
Eric: D'oh!
Reggie: D'oh!
Cryptic: An interesting area, the Boardwalk. It seems to posess great power. When I own it and place
buildings on it, it makes you lose.
