| Location- The Nevis Range is situated in the far west of Scotland, about 5 miles North-east of Fort William. Its location on some of the highest hills in the country- the Aonachs, or Grey Corries, helps with its snow cover during the winter. The Nevis Range tends to be one of Scotland's more forgotten resorts and its position, a long way from the central belt means that it is often the quietest of all the scottish resorts. It will take you about an hour and a half to drive to the Nevis Range from Inverness. The roads are almost never blocked as thay are near sea level and a gondola carries you up to the snow line. For more info on how to get there, please consult the resort's wbsite at- www.nevisrange.co.uk Ski area- The Nevis Range has 12 lifts including 3 chairlifts, 4 t-bars and 3 pomas. It has 35 downhill runs for a range of abilities. The resort is also home to the only gondola in Scotland, which will carry from you r car up to the runs. The Nevis Range has an phill capacity of 9,600 per hour. The highest run is at 4000ft and the longest runs for 2km. Some of the most challenging skiing in Scotland can be found in the back corries, and there is one chairlift over that side. On the main face, the runs are generally easier lower down, but some nice blues can be found on the plateau.
