| Virtual Ride |
| Setting; It starts early on a saterday morning, temps starting in the mid 60s, but weather forcast is calling for the mid 70s and sunny, Time of the year is early to mid Spring, Trees are starting to fill out, Flowers starting to bloom, air is filled with the graet smells of spring. What a Day for a ride, To where who knows? I do and I'm in control of the bike......LOL....and this story But it's a Special Place, I think. The places are real and I hope you will be able to piture them. Some of the names have been left out some changed, to help some pic have been added. RIDE Preps. I wake up early, anticipating a great ride, I look over to see that Sweet Some one that showed up last night, The bike still sitting in her spot on the inclosed porch, where I parked it when I came home last night. Being late I figure I'd go over her in the morning be for I took off. Some one seem to be inside, waiting, knowing that I was going for a ride Saterday morning and planing on inviting her Sweet self on the ride, knowing that I would not object her coming along. after some small talk off to bed for a good night's sleep a long day coming up and a nice 150 mile ride though some very beautiful country down in PA. some stops at some nice spots and some eats, then back home. one big circle, around the horn they call it, a very nice ride. First thing up, I go out the back door. It's still dark out stars are still in the westeren sky and in the Easteren sky I can just see the first look of light over the hills and I greet the morning with a Prayer to the Great Spirit, The Sky Father, For protection and Strength, mentally, Physically, Spiritually, for guidence and to Thank Him for the day He has Given to us, in the name of His Son, Then I go out to the bike and give her a good going over checking the primary chain, final drive chain, and adjusting them up, checking the oil and saddle bags for tools and extar oil, check the gas, filled it up last night on the way home but you never know some one may have siphoned it out not going to take chances give her a quick polishing and we'er ready to go. I see that I'm still the only one up, some one is sleeping late, so now for the alarm clock.....LOL.....this will wake her up. a few prim kicks retard the spark and she starts windows rattlin, doors and walls shakin, it Is TIME TO GET UP, Now You know why she is called "Thumper", now everyone in the neighbor hood is awake, better shut it off before the coppers are call to this party...LOL.!!!! Hearing some stumbleing around inside I figure I should go back inside. The alarm seemed to work, and I got to get cleaned up myself. my hair is pulled back and braided so it can be tucked in side my shirt if need be. The Sweet little thing that showed up last night has loaded her stuff in the right hand saddle bag. Well we'er ready, saddel bags are packed and we'er ready, But No Breakfest, now yet any ways. The Ride The bike is started with a couple of kicks and we get on the bike rev. the engine a little, just to hear it then again, and again and again. OK OK OK we'er going , your right I can listen to the engine on the road. pull the clutch in and click the bike into gear, let the clutch out and down the road to the first corner a 15mph zone, make a right hand turn the to the next corner about 1 block 30mph zone but not long enugh so get it up to speed before the next stop, a left hand turn then down to the main road another short drive less then a block, where we a make left onto the main road and take the speed up to 55 mph. 2 miles down the road to the dinner and then a good breakfest before we are on are way, After braekfest on the bike and west about 7 miles to rt17 west and speeds up to 70mph, on this road we go past a town where my gradfathers lived in a large Indian Village, I know where it was and we'er on the south side of the river from it. In sight of a Cliff of Pine trees where the rosd narrows down it is a beautiful area any time of year, I can see why they put there village here!!!!after the cliffs up around a bend in the raod we take the exit one eary from the right on but a nicer view we'll go next to the river and a peaceful ride to the next town where we pick up a road going into PA. we go through quit a few little towns be for coming to Camptown, yes this is the town the song camptown races was writen about. the track is long but gone now. in this town we take a right hand turn before we get to th bridge and up a long twisting road up hill to the end and make a right hand turn and to are first stop. so far we have gone about 75 miles the ride seems short and very nice. Here at Marie Antoinetts we grab a berger and a soda, go out to the towers and set on the walls over looking the valley below. But this isn't the Special place yet, thats about 1 to 2 miles down the other way higher up the hill at the top, but first some eats and a short rest. Then when we've resed about 1/2 hr Back on the Bike and on up the road to a small pulloff and park and lock up the bike. This is the Indian Prayer Rocks, about 1500 ft up not that high for the mts. but high for the hills and a beautiful site. Here we leave Thumper in the parking lot and walk up a path to the rocks them selfs. There are no fenches or anything in the way you can walk down on to the rocks and set on the edge, I'll go down so if you fall I'll catch ya. Its safe and we'er up with the Turkey Vultures with a wing span of about 8 to 10 ft, they're only about 10 to 20 ft at times in front of us as they circle around looking for food, (or for us to fall.....LOL..) LOok to the right Sweets a Hawk looks nice, Then you spot one more must be it's mate, while I'm watching the Hawks You spot two eagles off to the left of us. (this Spot is real and I have seen these birds up there ) as we look down we see the river.the same one we were next to earlier, next to it the train tracks what a sight, Almost makes you feel like we can just take off and fly with the birds. I like this spot not many come up here or even out on the rocks any more but they keep it up in good shape. This is where the warriors use to come to pray, and others of the local tribes use to come to pray to The Sky Father. We can burn some Ceader and Sweet Grass and Tobaco if you want to, and Pray are selfs while we'er up here Sweets. nothing to catch on fire but rocks. We can spend as much time here as you want. I can spend Hrs. just looking out over the valley. ( Wish I had pics of the rocks but I don't some time this summer I will though) Well it's getting late and we got some back roads to go. We go back down to the bike and go back touds the first stop and back down to Camptown where we make a different turn going through PA. some more twesting roads and old towns to Choconut PA. (Del. Indian for Valley of many Hemlocks)a little one horse town, here we will get gas and stop across the street for a good steak dinner, after dinner we go bake north some more to N.Y. to a little town i grew up in and not far from home, we'll make a left turn here and go home on the back roads up over some hills and through some of the back roads here and home. open my hidden door of the inclosed porch and pull Thumper in and put her to bed for the night, maybe, I'll check her oil again like I have on every stop, and go inside and rest up, Might just have to go out tonight and relax maybe down to another PA. bar about 7 miles away, nice people there some times. Now You may know Why She Is Called "Thumper" Now that I Have Totaly Embarrassed Myself I'll Let You go for now Later, Sweets, Hope you enjoyed the Ride, Two Fingers |
