A Dragon is a Water Slide?
                       BY Matt

Holy cow! I was so nervous that I had butterflies in my stomach and shivers going down my body because the Dragon Water Slide was huge. My friends and I finally got to Deep River Water Park after what seemed to be a two hour drive. I didnt want to go down the Dragon Water Slide first, but I did because Frank, Bryan, Austin, and Courtney made me.

We were walking up the stairs to go on the water slide. I was so scared that I thought I would go running back down the stairs, but I didnt. As we reached the top of the slide, I could just hear the screams of the people going, which made me even more nervous. There were about four people in front of me when I saw Frank go down the slide. All I heard was AGH! Franks scream made Austin and I laugh so hard we couldnt stop.

Then it was time. It was my turn to go down the 85-degree angle slide. I was scared! I got on the slide and I crossed my arms and legs and went down. At the speed of 70 miles per hour (according to the website) I was flying down the slide. My back was killing me because it was it was hitting all the cracks on the slide. Then I saw the water at the end of the slide and SPLASH!!!! Water shot up into the air and I slid to the end.

I got off and my back was beet red, but it was awesome. That slide was so awesome that I would ride it again and again all day long.
Diving into a Pot of Fun!!!

I felt the water all around me. When I jumped in I felt like a fish swimming and splashing around.

My cousins, sister, and I were having so much fun as soon as we jumped in Beacon Point pool in New Buffalo, Michigan.

Want to race? I asked my cousin Angela.

         Ok she replied.

          1, 2, 3, go! we both yelled.

We raced a few times. I won some and Angela won some. We also raced to get the diving rings and then raced back.

Then we started to dive for rings with my cousin Anthony and my little sister Jessica. It was so much fun! We dove for the rings in the deep and shallow ends of the pool.

Throw the rings in the deep end where I cant see them! Anthony yelled.

               Ok! I yelled back.

I threw them in and Anthony found some right away, but some he found with my help.

We tried to get a big inflatable raft to touch the bottom of the pool. It was hard there was a big pillow part of it that had more air in it so it was very hard to get down. Once we got that part down the other part of the raft that we got down would pop back up. We tied everything to get all the sides of the raft to touch the bottom of the pool. Finally, we got all the sides of the raft to touch the bottom!

Yea! we all shouted. We got it!

We high-fived each other. We couldnt stop laughing and smiling.

After that, Anthony told Angela, Jessica, and I about the Shaking the Raft game.

Its a game where two people stand on a raft and they try to shake each other off. Whoever falls off first loses, he said.

That sounds like fun! I said.

Lets play! we both said as we started to get on the raft. We almost fell off. We were still on after ten minutes. Then my mom told us that we had to leave. I pushed Angela off the raft.

I win! I shouted as we left the pool.

On the way home, I was thinking about how much fun I had at the pool. The water races were fun, even if I lost some times. Diving for rings was cool. Trying to get the raft to touch the bottom of the pool was awesome. Using teamwork we got the raft to go down. The most fun was the shaking the raft game!
