1st Marriage:  Paul Ifkovits - 7 Years
2 Children:  Hayden - 2-3/4 yrs & Emily Grace - 15 mos.
Highlights / Accomplishments: After Irmo, I attended (and graduated) from USC with Bachelors in Accounting.  Then in an attempt to postpone reality, I went to UVA (yes, the one in Charlottesville, VA) for my Masters Degree.

My first "real" job was with Arthur Andersen (a big - no, now small - public accounting firm for those of you who don't read the paper) in Atlanta, GA.  The year was 1987.  I worked hard and played hard - but by 1999 I had obtained my CPA and was over the "public accounting" life.  I moved back to SC working (with yet another now demised company) Policy Management Systems Corp as an accountant (go figure).  Meet hubby Paul while in Columbia, but after 4 years and imminent corporate disaster on the horizon for PMSC, I took a job with BellSouth (yes, the phone company) in Atlanta, GA.

Are you starting to see a pattern emerge?  In March 1994 I returned to Atlanta and this time stayed for about 6 years.  While with BellSouth I have held a number of different but challenging finance/accounting positions ranging from Internal Auditor, to forecasting international cellular & yellow page investments, to corporate controller, to most recently a territory financial analyst for the residential market.  Back to the story....  Paul and I married in October of 1995 and he moved to Atlanta (makes the marriage thing a tad bit easier with both parties in the same state) to work with a document automation company as an IT project manager.  In October 1999, our first child was born.  His name is Hayden and he is now 2-3/4 years old and wide open!  After Hayden's birth and my extended maternity leave, I returned as a part-time finance person to Bellsouth.

By 2000, we began to tire of the hectic pace and endless traffic of Atlanta.  We returned to Columbia, SC (actually Lexington) in the late summer of 2000.  Paul took a positiion as VP of Operations in my father's company, G& H Mail Service, Inc. and I transferred to another part-time position within BellSouth.  Baby #2 was born in April 2001.  Our beautiful daughter, Emiley Grace, is now about 15 months old.  I took yet another extended maternity leave (see? it is good to work for a baby bell) and returned to work end of last year.  And guess what... here we are July 2002.  As a future note, the economy has hit the telecommunications industy HARD and my current job (along with a bunch of others) is moving to Atlanta this fall, this time without me!  I think (????) that we have finally settled on a town and we hope to stay here a while, if not forever.  So, if you need a decent accountant....  look me up!
