I gave you control
I gave you my mind
my body and soul
You said you would keep them
close to your heart
Think back to the beginning
when did the end start?

Love freely given yet it cost me all I was
Were you dying inside
or did you kill me just because?
When did the man I love
die and depart?
Think back to the beginning
when did the end start?

If I was too good for you
why�d you treat me so bad?
I only wanted the truth
was that more than you had?
How could I stay
when your lies tore me apart
made me forget who I was
and shattered my heart?

After I told you
we were over and through
you closed the door-
but did I run after you?
No I took back control
swept up the pieces of my heart
held my head high
and made our end my new start.
