Watching my children learn and grow
I can't help but wonder if I'll be able to let them go
When it's time for them to take the leap into life to find a husband, to find a wife.
I know now why my mother never wanted me to grow too fast. I can see why I want their childhood to last.
On tomorrow's tender feet they step with their toes and after they leap there their innocence goes.
When my day comes to become a grandmother and they to become parents,
at least they'll know why I never wanted them to grow too fast.
