Consider exactly what YOU want first before emailing me.
When YOU decide what you require list the genealogical record or records required in the following way keeping it straight to the point.
Don't worry if you don't have all this information or if you're unsure about any aspect of it as I'll advise you afterwards as to whether or not you have enough information to work with.
List each requirement separately as per this example:
1. I'd like you to search for the civil BIRTH record for a (state name and surname) born in (state address, townland or county if known) and I'd like the search done in the 5 year period 18??-18?? or any 5 year period of your choice.
2. I'd like you to search for the civil MARRIAGE record for a (state names and surnames) married in (state address, townland or county if known) and I'd like the search done in the 5 year period 1864-1868 or any other 5 year period.
3. I'd like you to search for the civil DEATH record for a (state name and surname) who died in (state address, townland or county if known) and I'd like the search done in the 5 year period 1864-1868 or any other 5 year period.
4. I'd like you to search for the CHURCH-BAPTISM-MARRIAGE-BURIAL record for a (state name and surname) who was baptised in (state PARISH ,address, townland or county if known) and I'd like you to search in the 5 year period ? to ?
5. I'd like you to search for the Will copy, newspaper obituary or other archived record for a (state name and surname) in (state PARISH ,address, townland county or newspaper as appropriate) and I'd like you to search in the 5 year period ? to ?
ALWAYS state the religion( Catholic or other)of the person or persons for whom the record is required if known.
PLEASE DO NOT send me everything you know about your family history as this may result in getting no reply.
PLEASE DO NOT send me details of what happened to the family after
they left Ireland as it has no initial bearing on what I can find
for you in Ireland, at least not at this stage.I will glady discuss such information with you at a later stage if necessary.
HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR YOU
ALL CIVIL CATHOLIC BIRTH MARRIAGE AND DEATH RECORDS BEGIN IN 1864
Thus....if the birth, marriage, or death record you require occured
before 1864 you must fall back on the CHURCH-PARISH records if such survive for the parish and period you are interested in.I can advise on the availability of such church records.
The only CIVIL records that exist that are earlier than 1864, are
for NON-CATHOLIC MARRIAGES ONLY and such civil marriage records start in 1845.
