| Jane grew up in rural New York state on a dairy farm. On her twelfth birthday she was given a young heiffer for her birthday, from which she made all her pocket money for the next seven years. She attended a simple school up to high school, but dropped out of high school and returned to working on the dairy farm. When she turned eighteen, she headed for New York City to get work, and got a job in a ladies' clothing shop. She married at the age of 24, to a dock worker three years older then she. They had give children and moved to Pennsylvania when the youngest was two. In Pennsylvania, Jane stopped working to raise the children. When the kids were al grown up and gone from home, she and her husband moved to Missouri. After her husband's death, she got tired of the constant flooding and headed west. She's been living in Santa Monica for nearly twenty years now and has seven grandchildren who visi often. Not wanting to retire after leaving her job at a library, she began working at the C&S, the sensible one among all the young people. |
