Although the half brothers, Dee and the Dormouse, weren't the only children either of their parents had, they were the only two who found each other, let alone continued to work together. Dee was already sixteen when he first met his brother, then thirty-two and already heavily in with the IRA. Once they realised who they were, they immedietly began working together and when the Dormouse started the Wonderland Gang, Dee was more than happy to join up--taking some rather sordid duties on as well as the rank of Tweedle Dee. One of these duties was the kidnapping of Raphael Forger, and this he did with the help of the Mad Hatter instead of his usual partner, Tweedle Dum.
About the same time as the gang was started, Dee got custody of his five-year-old daughter, whose mother had just abandoned her with him in disgust. Following the heart of the gang, he nicknamed her Mary-Anne and convinced the Dormouse to let her stay with them in the old brick home, promising she'd be useful enough one day despite his older brother's warnings that they weren't running a nusury. Never really looking at the girl as a daughter, more of an entertaining object to keep around, Dee didn't raise her so much as the Dormouse's housekeeper.
Tweedle Dee was content to be known as one of the 'lesser members,' despite being Flynn's brother, always figuring that he would be the one to take over when the Dormouse couldn't run anymore. However, when Flynn located the boy Martin Flemming to take over the gang when he was gone, Dee grew discontent and irriated, determined that leading the gang was his birthright that no one could take from him. |
