THE IRISH AMERICAN CULTURAL INSTITUTE
DALLAS-FORT WORTH CHAPTER
A Brief History
The Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the Irish American Cultural Institute (IACI) was formed August l996 by Joan Meade DeDitius. As a chapter of National IACI, the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter serves the same purpose. It supports and promotes Irish Culture and the Arts here in the United States and in Ireland.
IACI National was founded in l962 by Dr. Eoin McKiernan in St. Paul, Minnesota. Since its inception, it has grown and expanded, and it now has chapters in 20 cities in the United States, including Dallas-Fort Worth.
A nonpolitical, nonsectarian 501(C)3 organization, the IACI also has the distinction of being the only organization of its kind under the patronage of the President of Ireland Mary McAleese. For more information contact IACI National at WWW.IACI-USA.ORG.
