Vampires
You ever wonder what drives people to be the way they are? For me yes this unity of the subject is a major part of my life. I do not call it an obsession because it does not control my life, nor do i call it a collection because its so much more then that. I dont believe they truely exist but i wish they did & im not talking about the old black & white movie, long velvet cloak & horrid make-up jobbed vamps. Im talking about the bad ass's that walk the night and own the darkness vampires that had lived for hundreds of years and when you go out for pizza late one night they might be the girl behind you sitting at the booth waiting for their slice & you would never know it.
Believe it or not the whole thing started over a lonely time in my life. I had always liked them but after breaking up with jessica i was very lonely and for a few months after i would not even go outside besides having to for work, barely spoke to my friends and spent alot of weeks just laying down and sleeping in depression but then i bought a dvd player and the first dvd i got was a set for Angel. After watching that i decided to start a dvd collection on vampires but soon after it turned to books, games & alot more things. Eventually i gained an encyclopedia practically through every source imaginable on the subject and it has become one of my favorite things in my life.
Some people can tell you what year, game & inning cal ripken jr. broke the most played games record in MLB history. Some people can tell you how many stories they empire state building is & some can tell you how to program a VCR. I am not one of those people but i can tell you which type of vampire can throw a car across a football feild like it was a football, how certain ones live in the city & others in the country side for specific reasons, and why a stake through the heart does not actually kill them, merely paralyzes them into a state known as Torpor until the object is removed. True it is not knowledge that is on a need to know basis but it is need to know for me & i enjoy being that person which is one of the things that makes me who i am today.
next week i will be introducing you to some of the concepts about these dark creatures and why they are so different from ones you may have seen portrayed in movies.
