Blessed Slumber
Hush my child, as you lay with me, And close your eyes so you may sleep,, As you drift away and begin to dream, Fly high upon that magical moonbeam!
Now, dear Lord, please stay close by, For in slumber our child may sigh, Comfort her as she visits you, And let her know that our love is true!
Sweet Lord, I pray to you this night To watch our child til morning's light Keep her honest, bright and true, And let her know that we our blest, For this gift that has come from you!

Happy Day (the story behind this poem: Before my niece lost the ablilty to speak one of her favorite times were family birthday parties. To her, instead of "Happy Birthdays" they were "Happy Days". This poem is dedicated to her.)
Clouds of sorrow fill my mind, As I search for a memory, so hard to find, Slowly a thought begins to form, Of the little girl we have gathered to mourn.
Happy Day! OH! Happy Day! These words still echo in my soul!
To see her laugh, dance or give a wave. These actions my heart so deeply craves, Her life, at times, was lived in such pain, So,to have her released, how can we lay blame?
Happy Day! OH! Happy Day! To her, the joy her release will bring!
This child that we all so loved, Too soon was called to live above, So we will mourn her to heal our hearts, But with her memory we shall never part.
Happy Day! OH! Happy Day! This little one has gone to embrace her Happy Day!

Home
I often find my thoughts will roam, To the place that I call home, It's rolling hills and mountains high, And at night, to see the Northern lights up in the sky!
To see each day dawn bright and new, And to watch the glistening of the morning's dew, Many times I've often yearned, To be back home when the morning returns!
But my life has set and I shall roam, To many places that to me are unknown, Yet in my mind I will always see, The place that my heart shall forever be!
