Where to begin? That is a question that most novice genealogist ask themselves. I am by no means and expert in this field but am just a little past the "Where to begin" question. My interest in my family genealogy began when I took on the task of finding out information on my grandparents (on my mother's side) for a family newsletter my siblings and I were sending out to the numerous aunts, uncles, great aunts and cousins for a family reunion we were trying to put together.
From there the "bug" just kind of took hold of me but, I think it helped that I "lucked out" on the first family name I began to research and was fortunate enough to find someone (on the internet) who was trying to connect all the families of that particular surname together.
The surname I began my research with was my maternal grandmother's maiden name of "Sprague" and thanks to this kindly gentleman, Dick Weber, I have that particular branch of my tree back to the fourteenth century
I have NOT been so lucky with the other names I have been researching. It is my hope that as I plod along I will slowly begin to peice little bits of family information together to give me clues as to where to go.
On this part of my site I am hoping to be able to post ancestral pictures, history and any stories that I find interesting. Reseach, thus far, has proven to show me some interesing things.
