Ansel Brown's BIO:
With a classy and uncompromising style, Ansel Brown pushes the envelope with emotion, energy and power vocals that truly rock - country style. As native of the Carolinas, Ansel Brown brings a breath of fresh air to the country scene. His engaging vocals blend sincerity and emotion into its purist form. Brown felt a strong pull into country music and after several years of leading worship at his church, Brown realized there was a bigger stage waiting for him.
In 2004, Brown began to write country songs and he eventually recorded a three-song demo, which he forwarded to renowned Nashville producer Cliff Downs. After hearing the three-song demo from Brown, Downs believed that Brown had what it would take to be a successful country artist - simmering passion, an honest and wholesome sound and great commercial appeal.
Downs assembled an all-star team of country musics best and most talented musicians and songwriters to contribute to Brown's first album. The songwriters involved included Doug Johnson who wrote Three Wooden Crosses performed by Randy Travis, Victoria Shaw who wrote The River performed by Garth Brooks and Neil Thrasher who wrote Melt, Fast Cars and Freedom by Rascal Flatts. The musicians featured the famous Bruce Bouton on steel guitar, Tim Akers on keys and organ, Steve Brewster on drums, Duncan Mullins on bass guitar, Tammy Rogers on fiddle and mandolin and Jerry Kimbrough on electric guitar. All of the musicians are consistently the ones sought after by country music's biggest solo acts for their recordings and all were on board to help Downs produce his next big artist, Ansel Brown. In addition to these great contributing artists, the background vocals were performed by L.A. recording duo Wilshire, along with one special appearance by David Pack (former lead singer of the famous group Ambrosia) on a song entitled You Deliver Me.
Brown has a big heart for children's causes and has stepped up his involvement with the Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC and the NFL Alumni. Brown made it a point to give back before making a dime on his music. Brown continues to raise the bar for new artists by combining talent and heart in a humble package. Brown is married to April and has three young sons - Sawyer, Garrett and Dawson who are all musically talented.
