Irish Birding League 2003 is a new concept to stimulate birders to get out into the field and record as many species as possible in the calander year 2003.
Rather than sticking to the old system of each species ranking equally a weighting system is employed awarding points based on the rarity of the sighting.
A further innovation is the awarding of bonus points to the finders of rarer species thus rewarding the more diligent and observant birders.
