VISAS

At present, South African Passport holders do not require visas for Ireland for a stay of less than 3 months, PROVIDED that on arrival in Ireland, and at any other point en route, they can satisfy immigration officials that the purpose of their visit is strictly for holiday or short term business. Pre-Paid Accommodation vouchers (open B&B Vouchers are acceptable), accompanied by return Air Tickets, should be produced as proof that you are a genuine tourist. This is a standard requirement, and most European countries instead of approving entry on arrival, insist on prior approval from their Consulates who will not even accept a request for a visa unless original accommodation vouchers are produced.

CEAD MILE FAILTE - Tourists are welcome in Ireland.
You will have heard reports of South Africans arriving in Ireland and being refused entry. This has not happened to any of our clients or to our knowledge to people in possession of pre-paid accommodation vouchers for Ireland. The media has reported cases of South Africans, particularly white females of various ages, being caught taking drugs into Ireland. These people are not the main problem as they are caught and jailed accordingly. Cause for concern is South Africans of all races and ages that enter Ireland disguised as tourists, then become involved in crime, work illegally or become a liability on the Irish State. Immigration officials have become more diligent and will apprehend anyone they suspect could be trying to enter Ireland for reasons other than tourism or legitimate short term business. Tourists are not expected to travel half way round the world without having pre-paid for their holiday prior to departing South Africa. The traveller is solely responsible for any inconvenience or financial loss incurred, as a result of being refused entry into Ireland, or at any point en route.
Ireland welcomes genuine tourists.

NAMIBIAN Passport Holders DO require Visas for Ireland.

Please contact the Irish Embassys Website for details of their consulate service and application forms for Passports and Visas.
