The Irish Arts Forum of Rockland

June 2000

Dear Friends,

This year The Irish Arts Forum will celebrate its twenty first anniversary. Over these past years members of the Forum have endeavored to bring to Rockland county the best of irish culture in the form of drama, music, history, art, dance and more. Our purpose has been and is to foster and preserve a knowledge of our Irish heritage so that present and future generations will remember and appreciate the influence our heritage and culture has had on the scene of our adopted and beloved country America.

Over the years the Irish and Irish American population of Rockland has increased manifold. We of the Forum feel and know that there is unlimited talent out there in the community. We are in need of all kinds of help and talent. We are asking that anyone hearing or reading this who has a talent or would like to develop one in any capacity of the arts to come and join us. There are also many opportunities to become involved not necessarily "on stage". We are currently seeking directors, actors, actresses, makeup, publicity, carpentry, hospitality, music, lighting, there are many ways to become involved. We ask if you or anyone you know would be 'interested please contact us at 588-0846 leave your name and number and we will contact you.

The Irish Arts Forum meets on the third Monday of the month at Rockland Irish American Cultural Center, Convent Road and Eisenhower Court, Blauvelt. At the meeting we generally have a short business meeting followed by a cultural activity, such as a reading, movie, music or lecture presentation. Refreslments are served.

We would be grateful if you would pass this information to your members and friends. We would be glad to reciprocate in any way we can.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Sincerely,

Chairperson, Presentations Committee.
