Reggae by the Pier had to be one of the highlights of my year. Located on the beach in Oceanside California this concert gave the reggae massive everything they wanted, except beer! The early bands were playing so I decided to check out the booths on the strand by the beach. After meeting some vendors and jamming some cd's for a while I heard the sounds of the Wailing Souls starting to warm up. I managed to get use of a vendor pass from a guy named Jedi so I was up $30 after not having to spend for a ticket. The Wailing Souls jammed it for a solid hour playing all their classics. The highlight for me was "Firehouse Rock." The Abyssinians were next to perform and I was really excited about seeing them again. Needless to say they were on form like usual. Barrington finished strong and gave the massive what they wanted with some classic skanting and powerfull display. Great concert, they just need to get the beer flowing next year! |
