Buju Banton April 19 2003 at Club Negril, Houston TX

Club Negril experienced on of its best turnouots ever for the higly anticipated return of Buju.  I arrived about 12:30, a half an hour after the posted showtime.  This being Houston I knew I was about 2 hours early.  The club was allready full and the dee jays, Bigga Boss and Supa Neil, were keeping the crowd entertained with some massive selections from their baskets.
The show started about 1:30 which was much earlier than I expected.  The club was extremley hot  and I saw a couple people pass out before the show even started.  The band came on stage and immediatly started into the "Diwali" riddim which was produced by "Lenky: of the Til Shilo Band and has been used by many a big dee jay.   Buju came out to "Stamina Daddy", one of his really old tunes.  He played a variety of his old stuff mixed in with a good amount from his Freinds for Life Album.  The vibes really started flowing when he played the Beres Hammond duet and covered both parts by himself.  From there it was a blur as the Heineken and spliffs really started to kick in.  This was one of the best shows I have seen in Houston.  Buju finished about 3:45am and the dee jay's kicked up again.  Thankfully they do it right out here and serve up the Heinekens all night!!!   Big Up Buju Banton and the Shiloh band!!!!
