Storybook art, one of the most wonderfull forms of art has often been over looked by the arts community. Every where you go you can find cutting edge comtemperary art that is full of angst and anger and it seems that everyone is looking to make a political statement. The art produced, don't get me wrong, is still wonderously beautifull, even if dark and somewhat cynical.
We do grow up, and as we become adults we lose our sence of wonder of the world that we once had as childern. There is something woderfull in the process of attempting to capture the world as seen through a child's eyes, and so I paint "Storybook Art" not just because it delights my son, but because it reminds me that the world that we live in is still a magical place, if we would only take the time to see.
