Message 2000.04.01 This is my attempt at translating Megumi Ogata's MO Bay site. Remember, I don't know much Japanese, if you'd like to help email me ^_^ Nice to meet you! This year marks the debut of em:ou in the summer of 2000. I would like the emphasis to be on song making, composition, singers, and musical activities. I'd be so happy if can I meet people at various places! In order to do that, I will give it my best. Now, leading up to the debut, I spent busy days in study and in meetings. During the meetings, the managers and I would always worry about my music, every single word would be scrutinized to determine if it's the best way to use the expression. That's the way it was (haha). Yep. For publicity's sake, I understand that copying is necessary. But, not one of them is going very well. For something to be suited to any kind of music, it isn't settled down. By no means, does it mean that it is bad when something becomes a genus. For genre and literary styles, I, myself, like a variety of music. I think that is largely in part due to being in contact with various genre of music when I was young. By only listening to it, things like classic, gospel, rock, pop, punk, hiphop, etc, can change the scene and mood by 180 degrees. Neither one is charming, but I know a useless object is useless... the main point is what the tune depends on, and that isn't what genre means. Because even when I started in music, it wasn't only classics, things such as old japanese court music and enka aren't included (haha), as for the genres pop, rock... the so-called "J-pop (haha. There isn't a standard meaning yet)" are developing and there are various elements that have been used. There is a section of some similar existing things, I don't think there's a place for it because these various types of music are already made and done. But there are mixes that have the potential to be original. That is also unexpectedly "me". Because from inside me, myself, this was born. Various elements were included, from various angles... different approach but the objective was one thing, to see what happened. I thought that way a few days ago, when I went to watch "Green Mile". That was a great movie! I usually don't use scathing language but after seeing the ending, I was like a spontaneous martyr (haha). Anyway, I seldom buy pamphlets to read at home. An interviewer wrote, "If you see this movie, it will affect you deeply, this movie's charm in one word express is difficult." so the lead actor, Tom Hanks answers "but there certainly isn't anywhere in S. King's created world that I wasn't fascinated to enter." ...... It's true! Now I have started those things, big things, this was not the reason of course, to say the least it's the kind of thing I wanted to start. It's not the point to touch on the subject of people's deep emotions, but whatever feelings are awakened, I think it starts anywhere, like live concerts or a CD. Everyone should be happy. Everyone's heart could be cured. If it is alright, to touch on the subject and see what happens. Before album debuts, there is a Live Tour to do. Please look at the seperate page.
