CHATHAM IRELAND ABROAD TRIP 2001

Counter

Welcome to my page. This page is about my trip to Ireland. I went to Ireland with my college as part of an interim class. We first prepared for the trip by doing research. We then went to three classes to prepare. We were studying the women in politics in Ireland. We researched many topics which we would later be visiting in Ireland. My topic was the Northern Ireland Women's Coalition. On January 7th we left for Ireland. We spent 15 days traveling the country side meeting important people as we went. First we boarded a plane for Boston where we sat for four hours until our plane left for Shannon Ireland. We had a quick stop in Shannon before taking off again for Dublin Ireland. Once in Dublin we were all exhausted, but it was 8 am in Ireland so we had to go through the whole day. We were met by our bus driver, Tommy O'Riley, who gave us a memorable trip across Ireland. We stayed in Dublin for a few nights before boarding the bus and heading to Newry in the north. We were in Newry for a few nights and then headed to Belfast for two nights, and then on to Enniskillen for a night. Then proceeded back to the Republic stopping in Galway for three nights and Bunratty Castle for one. We then were back at Shannon on January 22nd where we left the country for the States.
