| The brilliant sun shone through the car windshield, momentarily blinding him. His eyes watered. Blinking, he turned into his driveway and slowed to a halt. He took his briefcase from the passenger seat and got out. Fumbling for the right one, he dropped his keys. Bending to pick them up he noticed a small mark on his shoe. He moistened his thumb and rubbed it off. He straightened his tie and opened the door. Stepping inside he hung up his coat, put down his briefcase and closed the door again. He put the kettle on to boil and took two cups from the cupboard. He put a little milk in each. In the hall he removed his tie and jacket and hung them on the banister. He took one of the cups from the side, washed it and returned it to the cupboard. | ||
