If Robin Dies are a 4-piece,Welsh band, playing grunge/rock/alternative music in the Mid/South Wales area.
They have a wierd sound, caused mostly by their inability to write proper songs and the fact that they have two lead vocalists (both Robin and Jed attempt to 'sing', neither taking precedent)
The concept of a band started back in early '99 to create an idea of rivalry between us and Manscape and add some drama to in-school gigs. Beginning under the name 'Rival' we wrote a couple of songs but mostly just jammed. About 3/4 year later Robin and his ability to yell loudly were discovered and the band came to be known as 'If Robin Dies' (due to an incident at a milennium party) Since then both Jed and Robin have been writing lyrics like Bob Dylan on speed. The band has continued practising at least once a week for over a year now and although it only has a small following, it has continued to rise in notoriety with each gig played. Their first released is a 7-track EP entitled Life (Just passing through) available for a few quid from gigs or Hay Print and Design.
They now have a new 6 track Ep (Eeeeeeeeep!) which will be for sale at all gigs from now. They also try to have a free demo tape (Dilapitated Minds collection) available at each gig, which contain any new material the band have been messing around with at the time.
They're currently working towards recording their first album for release sometime in 2004, and releasing Demo's whilst doing this. |
