Poetry Contest

Beginning on July 15th and ending on August 15th, The Yahoo! IRCFlirt Group will hold its annual summer poetry contest. All members of the club, and those joining during that period, are invited to post their best efforts according to the following guidelines.

Guidelines:
  1. No more than one (1) poem per day (this is a restriction, not an invitation).
  2. All submissions must be the original work of the person submitting and may not be poems previously offered as submissions in this contest--that is: in this community.
  3. All poems must be romantic, flirtacious, or heart rending (lost love, broken hearts, etc.) in subject matter.
  4. Poems may be of any format but must be at least one stanza long (no witty one-liners).
  5. All poetry posts for the contest should have a title that marks them as contest entries (topic = Poetry Contest will suffice).

Prizes will be awarded as follows:

 Best Poet Overall.
Awarded as First, Second, and Third Place, it is based on the overall quality of the complete body of poetry submitted during the course of the contest and is, therefore, to be considered the top prize. Poets named as winners will have their entire work reprinted on our website as a page dedicated to their work. They will also receive one of the three graphics shown here and a duplicate copy of the page suitable for upload to their own website.
