The INDIAN RIVER BASS ANGLERS CLUB is a non-profit organization formed to provide a social setting for bass fishermen to meet on a monthly basis and fish together in friendly tournament competition.
The club is open to all applicants over the age of sixteen (16) regardless of race, creed, color ,religion, gender, or national origin.
It is the philosophy of the club to promote the enjoyment of bass fishing through reasonable rules and by enlisting members who want to fish competively with friends and not suffer the stress of fishing with competitors who have the "win at all costs" mentality.
The club is a STRICT catch and release organization and encourages members to take all measures to ensure the safe, healthy release of all bass caught.
Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month. Meetings are presently being held in the library at Dodgertown Elementery School on 43rd Ave in Vero Beach.
Anyone wanting information on the club or information on joining the club can contact John Fink at 772-569-4523 or Sam Whisenant at 772-563-0021.
We are half way through the year and you boys better watch out. The old Prez.(that,s me) is sneaking up in the weight chase for year end. I started slow but have finally had some luck and caught a few fish.
I am proud of our club for doing the Take a Kid Fishing event which was very successful and everyone involved had a lot of fun. I have heard several positive comments and I hope all of you saw the nice article that Walter Eager did in the Press Journal on June 27. I hope we do it again next year. How about the photo in the P J, dont J.R. Knowles look like a professional guide. Special thanks to Rick Macklem for mounting the kids trophy bass, and to Roger Shelly for not poisoning us with his cooking.
Robert Kimbrough, Sam Whisenant, Jeff Leggett, and myself plan to attend the Federation meeting July 12 in Clermont, and I hope we can get some answers to all our questions.
We need to pick a date to do a Casting Kids event and start making plans for a Conservation event. We need to have these two events completed before the Federation Championships in October.
Sorry I wont be at the next meeting on July 7. Sometimes work gets in the way. See you at the July tournament.

From Club President John Fink
One very cold winter day Billy Bob and Jethro decide to go fishing. After arriving at the lake early in the morning, they drop their lines in the water.  After fishing for a few hours, Billy Bob has caught dozens of fish while Jethro hasn't even gotten a bite.
Jethro asks, "Billy Bob, what's your secret?"
Billy Bob answers, "Mmu motta meep da mmrms mmrm."
Jethro asks, "What did you say?"
Billy Bob answers, "Mmu motta meep da mmrms mmrm."
Jethro again asks, "What?"
Billy Bob spits into his hand and says, "You gotta keep the worms warm!"
New members no longer have to be voted in. Just attend a meeting and pay dues. Also ,any new member MUST attend a meeting and pay dues before they can fish in a tournament.

Please take this opportunity to familiarize yourself with all the boating rules of the road and all the common courtesies  at the boat ramp and on the water
