After Iraq was defeated in the battle known as `Operation Desert Storm', he tries to make himself the champion for the Palestinians and creates the hatred of Muslim for the Christians. He is highly successful as many Muslims worldwide consider him a `hero' for the Islamic cause. Please see `Fulfillment of the Gulf War'

"... So he shall return and show regard for those who forsake the holy covenant."   Dan 11:30b

This time when he returns he will be supported by the power of the Muslims. To ensure their support, he will have to prove to them that he is worthy to be their `champion'.

Note: Christians are the people of the holy covenant. Islam is the religion taken from parts of the Old and New Testaments and the rest are their own rules and regulations. Thus, the Islamic religion can be considered as the religion of those who has forsaken the holy covenant. Jesus is just a prophet in the Quran. Allah is only the God of Abraham but not the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. Thus, Allah is not Jehovah. Therefore, the above verse `those who forsake the holy covenant' will signify the Muslims.

Note: Since the `Gulf War', Iraq a very secular state became a very religious nation. In the centre of Baghdad, Saddam Hussein was building the largest mosque in the world with the capacity of 45,000 worshippers. Worshippers filled all the numerous mosques and most of their women folk are now wearing the abaya (complete covering of their body and face). Iraq showed his faithfulness to his friend Jordan, who sided with him during the Iraqi war in 1991AD. It is supplying Jordan the oil need at literally no cost though Iraq is extremely poor and many of its people are dying of malnutrition and sicknesses under UN sanction. This very action brings the Arab world to admire Iraq for its faithfulness to his friend.

In November 1998 AD, the West (US and Britain) air attacked Iraq and is still attacking military, communication and possible arms storage sites from air bases in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Saddam Hussein blamed Kuwait and Saudi Arabia for these aerial attacks. Muslims worldwide resent these attacks.

In January 1999 AD during the meeting of the heads of Arabian nations (all Muslim nations), Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait blamed Iraq for causing the on-going aerial attacks. All the other heads of states advised Iraq to comply with the UN resolutions. The Iraqi foreign affair minister walked out and went back to Iraq condemning Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait as the agents of US and said that all these other Arab states were used by US. Although these governments are against Saddam Hussein, the people still hero worship him.

Recent Middle East Crisis (update on 27^th October 2000)

At the beginning of October this year, riots and violence broke out in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. For the last 4 weeks over 150 persons were killed by bullets and majority were Palestinians. Many of them were youth and some children were also killed. Muslims worldwide condemned this so-called massacre. Immediately, King Abdullah of Jordan and some of his people donated blood for the wounded Palestinians.

President Saddam Hussein of Iraq on 4^th October (weakened by the UN sanction and restricted air-space and movement of its army since 1991 AD) called for jihad or holy war to liberate Jerusalem. Since the Arab world were not able to destroy Israel, Iraq will destroy Israel if only the Arabs will allow a free corridor (land) for Iraq to reach Israel. The Arabs are to support from a distance.

On 16^th October, US William Cohen warned Iraq (movement of arm forces) against taking advantage of unrest in the Middle East to threaten his neighbours (Kuwait and Saudi Arabia)

The UN too passed the resolution that Israel was too harsh in their dealing with the Palestinians.

The Cairo Arab summit was a big disappointment to Iraq for the Arab nations were warned by the West and UN to be cautious with their words otherwise they may jeopardize the Peace process. Immediately (23^rd. Oct.), Saddam Hussein condemned the kings and rulers who attended the summit, and call on the Arab people to revolt and also `jihad' against them.

There is no doubt that Saddam Hussein has succeeded in creating hatred of Muslims towards the Christians worldwide.

Latest Middle East Crisis (update on 3rd. September 2002)

Since the destruction of the Twin towers in New York on the 11th September 2001 by terrorists, the Western nations led by US were on the warpath against terrorists. The Muslim nation of Afghanistan was conquered to the displeasure of Muslim worldwide.

The latest incursion of the Israeli army and artillery into the West Bank caused the death of hundred of Palestinians. The whole Muslim world were against this intrusion yet not one of them lifted a finger to help.

Saddam Hussien paid every Palestinian `jihad' martyr $25,000 each, and promised to pay $25,000 for every house destroyed in Jenin, the Palestinian refugee settlement.

Iraq in mid April 2002 called upon all Arab nations to stop pumping oil from the ground for a month in order to hit the economies of the West. All the Arab oil producing nations boycotted his call. Iraq along stopped the oil supply for a month though the country is going through difficult financial times during the period of UN sanction. It still continues to supply oil to the need of Jordan at no cost.

Though, Iraq is considered a poor country and still under UN sanction, these sacrifice and the continuous faithfulness to his ally is something to be admired by all. He has indeed won many hearts and is the most popular figure in the Arab and Muslim world. At this very moment, Iraq is the `champion' for the cause of the Muslims worldwide.

The consequences of attacking Iraq will be highly disastrous and will bring the whole world to destruction with hundreds of million being killed. Muslims worldwide will arise and fight alongside Iraq and weapons of mass destruction will be detonated by the terrorists everywhere.    {Please go to `The Consequences of Attacking Iraq'}
