The 16th Infantry Regiment was formed in 2001 by the Commanding Officer (CO) Gen.Jack, |16th IR|Gen.Jack. The idea behind the creation of the 16th Infantry Regiment was to have a clan that was full of polite, generous and skilled gamers. Gen.Jack did not want his clan to be another run-of-the-mill clan, but a clan where members get along and play fairly. Also, Gen.Jack did not want the 16th Infantry Regiment to be a clan which the members of it were obligated to; his number one rule when it comes to playing online, unlike other clans, was, and still is for the members of the 16th Infantry Regiment to come online only when they have the time to. In this way people would only come when they wanted to, and not be "forced" to play. In this approach, Gen.Jack hoped that the clan members would get along better because when they played with each other, they would actually want to play with one another, which is sadly not the case in many other clans. Also, eligibililty to become a member of the 16th Infantry Regiment is not based very heavily on the skill of the person in a game. The 16th Infantry Regiment helps out its members that are new to a game or are having trouble doing very well.
The 16th Infantry Regiment had become idle in the middle of 2002, and many of the original members have left the clan because they were no longer interested in playing EA's Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, which the 16th was originally formed to play.
As of now, the 16th Infantry Regiment is back in full swing, and is playing Battlefield: 1942 quite often. The 16th Infantry Regiment thanks you for visiting their website and hopes that they see you online in Battlefield:1942.
