Kottakuppam is situated at near pondichery which is entrance to pondicherry of East Coast Road.Kottakuppam Special Gram Panchayat.Here have one primary,middle and secondary school.This panchyat have few villages included.These are Chinna kottakuppam,Indra Nagar,Mudaliayr chavadi,Pommayar Palayam etc.Electricity board,Police Station,Panchayt Office,Inidan bank and Busstand are situated at main road.
Majority of people are muslim around 90% and 10% are other relegion.But we are living as one family.Here have Five Mosque and two temple.Qutba Mosque which is located at main road (near Indian Bank) is for festival pray only which are RAMALAN and BAKRID
