Meeting Notices & Update
My sincere apologies for not sending out a newsletter for the last 3 months, but with vacations, weddings and life in general, things just got away from me.  But we are back and hopefully, stronger than ever so here it goes.
Our 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th meeting of 2003,were held on June17, July 15, August 19 & September 17, respectively.  As usual our meetings had good member attendance.

Many topics were covered, including our proposed by-law changes to our charter, the nomination papers that we have all now signed, our attendance at the Hamilton and Wenham town committee meetings, efforts to increase membership and the upcoming election season which should be an exciting and interesting period for us.
Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday evening, October 21, 2003 at 8:00PM in Conference Room #213C, 2nd floor of Town Hall, Green Street.

The final meeting scheduled for 2003, (can you believe it?) will be held Tuesday, November 18.  Time and location will remain the same.  If there are any changes, these will be announced before this meeting.  We will set our agenda for 2004 and schedule the meetings for the first half of 2004. RP

Representative Brad Hill
Brad Hill has been doing his usual outstanding effort on our behalf on Beacon Hill.  The opposition would very much like to replace Brad and Senator Bruce Tarr with one of their own in 2004, so do not be too surprised if both Brad and Bruce are challenged next year.  We need to be prepared for anything that comes along regarding these two fine men and be ready to help them in any and all ways possible.  We cannot afford to lose these able and hard working representatives.

There are two fundraisers scheduled for Brad this month; Thursday, October 23, home of Bill and Lee Nelson, 29 Water St. and Saturday, October 25 at the home of Pam Foley, 25 Meadowview Lane.  Please contact Brads office for additional information

On an unsettling note:  Ginny Hill Brads mom is still not feeling well.  We send our prayers, best wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery to this incredible, indefatigably, sweet lady.  We hope she will be fit and well soon
You may contact Brad Hill at: District Office Phone:  978-356-9008
State House Phone: 617-722-2489
Or you can send an e-mail to:    [email protected].

Mule Appreciation Day
October 26th is Mule Appreciation Day.  Dont forget to hug your favorite four-legged friend, equine or otherwise.  If you do not have one, by all means, hug a Democrat.  Something tells me in the upcoming months, they are going to need it.-RP

Rosalies Remarks
It seems hard to believe that it is now October and the national elections are only 12 months away.  This year, especially this summer has flown and I have no idea where it has gone.

Much has happened since our last newsletter.  The Democratic presidential wannabes started out as the seven dwarves with Hillary as a possibility; then became the gang of eight, with Bill & Hill dominating the airways; then became the nine little Indians, (apologies to our Native American brethren); then became nine little Indians and one big chief, General Wesley Clark. The General, who not too long ago, supported all things Republican, has changed his mind, now swears he is a Democrat but is still a registered Independent.

Presently the field has decreased by one.  Bob Graham realizing he has no chance in this crowded field, dropped out last week.  Howard Dean and Wes Clark are leading the field, leaving the other candidates, especially Lieberman, Kerry and Gephart in the dust.  I can hardly wait for the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary.

Then there was the California recall and who is now the governor elect of the 5th largest economy in the world.
In less than a year after he was re-elected as governor, Grey Davis got the boot.  To say recall was a circus would be an understatement.  There were 139 candidates on the ballot.  Included were porn-king, Larry Flynt , unemployed child actor, Gary Coleman, the always annoying Adrienne Huffington, Lt Gov. Cruz Bustamante, Republican Tom McClintock and an action hero movie star.  The field was large, diverse and comical.
When the dust cleared, Davis was out of a job and the people had elected Conan/Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, a moderate Republican with no previous political experience to replace him.
