| "All through ...e night I'll ...e stand... over you..."
Her hands fold in her lap. Her hair swings with her gentle rockings. "All thr... the nigh... I'll be watching ov... you..." Oichi notices a small black flower in her suit. The petals have wilted a little. "And through ba... dreams I'll b... right ther..." Marl closes her eyes as she senses her closeness. "Hold... your hand, tell... you every...ng is ...ll right..." |
*The urge to comfort the voice, as strong as the urge of a mother to comfort her own child. A final set of tears spill forward as Oichi closes her eyes.*
"Ma..." *She tries to speak. But her own voice breaks at only a whispers. Waves of loneliness wash over her... the song of Marl seeming fused with her own feelings... so far from home, the only one of her kind, forever trapped on the edges.* *She lowers her hand, until it comes to rest on top Marl's own. The two hands almost the same... childlike and lost* |

| Marl: The second of the apparitions. Marl and our dear OIchi shared songs and times. If things had been different... who knows what might have been... the dream child, and the child of Japan. But alas they were doomed to seperate sides of the coin. Marl's sworn enemy... the Infernal of Oichi's heart. Oichi's sworn enemy... her beloved Kahn. Things are never black and white in the VWE, at least "in between"... the place where Oichi lived. On the occassions twice, Marl did save Oichi's life and mind. On another night, Oichi offered... comfort... instead of death. She tried with all her might to stop Marl from joining the doomed party Underground. But she failed. Marl did not return. Well she did not return it would seem to those of the ground were not. The apparitions did fall away... Marlene Blackthorn: The youngest Blackthorn, and a handful at least, it is Marlene. People know her as the adopted daughter of Erin Blackthorn. But Oichi has a secret, and Oichi has a chore... keeping an eye on this teenager and her new life. Oichi failed miserably in keeping history from repeating itself... and once Marlene became the new CEO... Oichi's job became impossible. To Marlene she was part friend, part mother, part family, part employee... the relationship is bound to be... interesting as things they do unfold. Oichi holds the key, to a door that should not be opened. She guards a story that is better left untold. She sits upon two sides of a single coin. Erin and Marlene, the past and the present, dreams and reality, ghosts and souls... Oichi's eyes are open. |
