He's Alive!!!!
So, you've decided to create a Cabalist. Great, shows you have some class. Bad pun, anyway, this is great. It will be a long and hard journey that many have tried, but only a handful have grown to enjoy. I will lend a few tips in creation and starting out your cabalist.
Choosing Your Race
Choosing your race should be pretty simple. Most of the people will go with the Avalonian. They have low strength and hitpoints, but have a high intelligence and nice dexterity. However, a Sarcen is capable due to the extremely high dexterity, but you would want to put points into intelligence. You can also choose a briton, this will mean a fairly balanced class. Putting points into bother intelligence and dexterity is a must.
Selecting Your Stats
Your stats are extremely important. I will go over each ones effect: STRength: How much you can carry and melee damage. Minor. CONstitution: How many hit points you will have. How much endurance you have. Medium. DEXterity: How accurate you are at hitting, how slow your Endurance is consumed and how fast you cast your spells. Major. QUIckness: How fast you swing your weapon, how well you are at evading attacks. Very Minor. INTelligence: How much Power you have to cast spells. Major. PIEty: How much Power a Paladin or Cleric has. Very Minor. EMPathy: I don't think this is used for our realm. Very Minor. CHArisma: How well a minstrel or sorcerer can charm monsters. Very Minor. You will get 30 points to spend. After you spend 10 points in one stat, it will begin to cost 2 points, at 15 increased stat points, it will cost 3. I would suggest Intelligence and Dexterity for the Cabalist. You may want to put points in CON to have better hitpoints if you get hit, or STR to increase how much loot you can carry.
Choose the Mage Class, of course. This will branch off into the Sorcerer or Cabalist. At level 5, you will visit the Cabalist trainer and become the infamous Cabalist.
As for a few hunting tips that will get you to level 5. No matter what anyone says, unless you are joining a friend to play, stay around the Lethantis Association. Fight for the first few levels right on the hill. If you kill the little pixies, you can get some armor to wear for free. Its not great, but it will do you for now. Attack anything that cons blue. Yellow could kill you and green is just boring. Get a far distance and begin using your first direct damage spell over and over on the monster, kill them as much as you can before they get to you. Then use F6 to use your staff to strike the killing blows to the monster. In no time you will find yourself a Cabalist, and fighting harder things. This is your chance to learn the character. Don't let anyone powerlevel you, learn by yourself. After a few levels, join up with some people and begin learning how you work in a group. If you get all the way to level 10 with others help, you will find yourself in a world of hurt when you go to solo.
