Sgt. Michael Higashi, Montebello Police Dept.


Mr. Higashi is quite accomplished in k9 handling and training.He is well schooled in all aspects of k9 Deployment, Narcotics, Apprehension, Agitation and has been active in the development of k9 tactics for over 20 years. Mr. Higashi incorporated k9 to the Redondo PD SWAT, Attended the German Border Patrol dog school/master handler class. (Zollhundeschule, Nuendettlesau, Bavaria, West Germany.) He has attended numerous seminars both here in the U.S and abroad. He has Instituted an in-house breeding and training program for the Redondo Police Dept., resulting in deploying trained and certified police k-9's for field service.

Accomplishments
First officer on the west coast to develop and institute an in-house breeding and training program.
2nd officer in the United States, in Law Enforcement to be invited to the Zollhundeschule in Nuendettlesau, West Germany.
2nd K-9 team in California to be fully incorporated and functional within a SWAT team.
Is currently the K9 Unit Supervisor for the Montebello Police Dept.
 
 






 

Mr. Rik Wolterbeek


Mr. Rik Wolterbeek Brings decades of experience with him.  In Holland, he was a certified regional and national decoy for over fifteen years. Decoying over 100 times for regional and national trials. Decoyed at the nationals of the NTC(Army). For over ten years he Was the training director for one of the oldest KNPV clubs in the province of Noord Holland. Instructed and coached club members from scratch to PH 1, PH 2 and Objectbewakingshond, (Three different KNPV programs). From 1982 to 1993 Mr. Wolterbeek worked as instructor / trainer for the k9 unit of one of the largest security companies in Holland. Responsible for training and maintaining 35 k9 teams. Personally Trained and coached over 150 security teams to security certification.

MR. Wolterbeek has been in the United States working with k9's since 1994. In this time he has instructed seminars for Working Dog Organizations and Police Departments through out the United States: Palm City FL, Brooksville FL, Sarasota FL, Marengo ILL, Hoopeston ILL, Chicago ILL, Jackson TN, Memphis TN, Sevierville TN, Atlanta GA, Fayetteville NC, Charleston SC, Cedar Lane TX, Broussard LA, Madison VA, Waynesboro VA, Binghamton NY, Los Angeles CA, Lake Charles LA, etc. Has trained Sheriff Departments, Police Departments and private Police dogs from start to Certification. Has certified Narcotic Detection dog with NNDDA. Decoy for private and police dogs for KNPV, Schutzund, French Ring, and personal protection along with obedience instruction. FDLE ( Florida Department of Law Enforcement) Certified Trainer.




MR. Rodney Spicer

Mr. Spicer comes from Ventura, Ca. Where he runs a full time training facility. He has been training working dogs for over sixteen years, where he has titled 11 different dogs in Schutzhund, and has competed in National, Regional and local trials, as well as several protection dog competitions. He has been the training coordinator for the Oxnard Police Department K9 Unit since September of 1997 where his teams have consistently won top dog and top agency. And is currently the training director for Gold Coast Working Dog Association where his teams are three years in a row National Champions. He is also a certified P.O.S.T evaluator (peace officer standards and training) in Patrol, Narcotics and Bomb Detection .






Mr. PAUL CIPPARONE

Mr. Paul Cipparone has been Actively involved in the training of k9's for the past twenty -five years. He is the Owner and operator of the "Wellington county school for dogs and security dog services ltd." since 1972

Mr. Cipparone was the founding director members of the American Ring Federation (ARF) in 1986 and have served on the board of directors thru the change to the The North American Ring Association (NARA) for ten years. 1992- Recertified to National Select Ringsport Decoy, 1995- Selected North American Ring Sport Association Ringsport Decoy of the year. First North American to receive this honor. Only decoy to be selected to work three North American Ring Championships to date .1990,1991,1995.

 1982 Certified DVG Schutzhund trial decoy.  Responsible for numerous SchH titles (25) .Has accomplished High score SchH 1, 11 and III DVG. 1982N.A.S.A. National Championship team qualifier SchH I team championship , high score tracking 99/100. 1984- Training director Ontario Schutzhund Association DVG.. Ohio Hundesport Club. 1986-Training decoy and training director for high score SchH III GSD OG Ohio Hundesport Club. 1986- Worked as selection decoy for the USA ,SV. Team representative for 1986 Miestershaft1997/98, trained & handled four Rottwielers to six certificates , including , ZTP,AZTP,three BH and a SchH I high in trial DVG. 1996 - Obtained Ring III on a Malinois trained from a puppy. 1996 - Obtained Ring II on a Malinois.
