It is with enthusiasm that we invite you to join us as an IPA member. IPA is a police social and recreational activities organization which gives you the opportunity to socialize with people of similar backgrounds. IPA stands for International Police Association which is a world wide organization. This organization has been in existence for more then 50 years but has not to date been well known here. We want to change this by promoting our organization and increasing our numbers in our region and throughout Quebec. You can join our organization if you are a federal, provincial, municipal or military police officer. In IPA everyone is on the same level, members are addressed by their first names with no reference or distinction given to rank or position (police brotherhood, police association, commanding officer etc.). The IPA Canada sub region 7 Montreal South Shore offers you a friendship meeting (happy hour) every second Thursday giving you the opportunity to socialize with members of different police organizations by having a drink or a meal together in a friendship atmosphere. You will be advised by e-mail of these meetings to let you know were they are, and also to confirm your participation. You will also be able to see the list of who else will be attending that evening. As an IPA member you can receive help in organizing trips or tours. As a world wide organization we have contacts at home and around the world to assist with accommodations and travel arrangements, even IPA members who will act as your guide. In Quebec we have two existing regions, the town of Montreal (region 7), and Quebec City (region 8) . Montreal South Shore (sub region 7) will be recognized as the third region, region 15 spring 2001 at the Annual General Meeting in Hamilton, Ontario. Serve Through Friendship ! |
