Keep the 3 and the 5 series alive! The wireless pack is what keps the ipaq series going. PDA's aren't expensive disposable notepads! I got a screwed main battery but the expansion pack is what's keeping it running!

I used the sleeve with my 3970 for about a year until I upgraded to the 5550.  I prefer the sleeve over converged devices, like the iMate because the earpiece and mic input are on the back, saving the touch screen from being rubbed against the face all day long!

I always saw your company as the frontline of quality and service apparntly by your lack of future support and developement of this desired product has had people in my government command move towards other brands of products , this problem with the gsm sleeve is another indication your company is losing quality in the eyes of the customers , many of my coworkers in my command of 5000 have sold their HP/compaq products and no longer became repeat customers for your products,  I see this lack of sensitivty toward your customers which is making me consider other brands for my needs, preferably JAPANESE brands.

Wake up and support/fix this problem (even let the user-community know what's going on for goodness sake)! There are SO many loyal HP iPAQ users out - all of them getting RELLY impatient - that the next wave of features to appear on your COMPETITORS products just may lead to a HUGE loss of future opportunities for HP. The attitude being exhibited here by HP was once out of character but is now becoming so common that if it is not rectified you will soon suffer the fate of every other non-customer focused IT company. Just FIX the situation and keep your customers.

On my iPAQ 3850, I used this device a LOT. It is very useful and I was disgusted that, after paying so much for it, that I couldn't use it on the same machine if I moved up to the much-hyped WM2003 or on my 5550 which came with WM2003.
