Welcome to the home of Ipacak! Ipacak is a high energy progressive rock band with influences from all over, such as Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy, Guns N' Roses, and many many more. We take the best of the new and the old, the popular and the underground, and we meld it into our own distinct style. We always strive to put on great original live shows. We have an extremely talented guitarist, and an amazing drummer/singer/keyboarist, both with a passion for creating and performing great music. January 23, 2007.
Well everyone, it seems all good things must come to an end... Ipacak is no longer. Unfortunately there were some issues that our guitarist had, and they apparently, after no talks, were unresolvable. Chris has, in an unexplainable move, decided to quit, with no possible farewell show...(I would explain more, but all I got was an e-mail saying "I'm done with it." Whatever that means?) So after some 56 shows in 8 years, I guess this is it. I personally do appreciate everyone that came to all of our shows, and hung in there with us and supported us for all these years.
However, there is some GOOD NEWS in all of this! As depressing as it is for Ipacak to have broken up (especially in such a manner...) now Dayv and Susie will move on to greater things, like Copper Pitch. Currently we are writing music and planning to record a full length album, all about ancient Greek and Roman mythological gods and creatures. We actually have a guy to record us this time around, and even someone willing to make us CDs! So, keep checking back... www.myspace.com/CopperPitch is our current website, but soon enough www.copperpitch.net will be our new home(Let's say... February on that one).
Anyway, one last time, I'd really truly like to thank every single person who ever came out to a show... bought a CD... wore an Ipacak t-shirt... sung along with our songs...helped us tear down our equipment after a show... gone out to celebrate with us after a show... and everyone who's ever taken the time to listen. Thank you, and I promise we'll see each other soon enough with Copper Pitch!
