also thank you bryce for the e-card.

tonight rookie phenom lebron james takes the court for his first nba game. i feel if he doesn't score at least 45 points tonight he will let down all the hype around him. this kid has been built up to be the next jordan (he even wears the number 23). i am sure sports center will do at least a 8 minute segemnt on his play tonight. good luck lebron, you will need it.

i just got my fantasy basketball team today in power's league, three starters are from the bulls (crawford, chandler, and curry). i am not sure how they will all pan out, but since i think they will make the playoffs i should do well.

oh ya i also have a new favorite television show, the big guy high school sports report. the show is a riot! the host is about 400lbs. and has been supporting brother rice all year (they even did a show from rice). the funny part is that all he cares about is football. on last nights show he had members of the marist girls volleyball team, it was obvious he could care less. he didn't say anything to any of the girls who came out. then when they introduced the st. rita football team he kept patting all the guys in the stomach for some odd reason. the best part of the show is that last night it broadcast live from mc nally's bar on western. ok is it a good idea to bring high school minors into a bar at around 9pm. you could hear beer bottles being swept of tables (hell maybe it was some of the kids). i just found that funny. watch the show on channel 62 tuesday nights at i think 8 or 9pm.

horrible news from the price is right world, rod roddy died last night. recently he has been announcing every once and a while, but now he is gone. the greatest announcer on tv can no longer say, come on down your the next contestant on the price is right.

last night i went out to buffulo wild wings to watch the monday night game with mary, doyle and siv. i have not been to one since i was in iowa when the hawkeye clinched the big ten title. it was odd watching the charges take on the dolphins in tempe arizona. we also figured out that all of us have been going out on the weekdays and sundays and not doing all that much on friday and saturday, how odd right.

on the job front there is little news. i sent out a bunch of application and resumes yesterday so hopefully something will pop up.

congrats are in order to my friend and old neighbor katie adams. it turns out that i hear roger and her are now engaged to be married! congrats katie and i will be in town this weekend so hopefully rachael, you and i can meet up.

i love local bars. last night at george's some girl was going on and on about how ignorant some guy was. of course it was loud enough to get other drunks to rip on her. i think all the tension was messing with my shuffle board skills. three times i was able to knock all of my teams discs off the table (that is not a good thing to those who have never played). inbetween visits to george's we went up to meet karen and her boyfriend brian at bj mc mahon's. after having a long discussion about crazed little league parents and how bad our grammer schools were, leads me to ask did any one really like their grammer school? seriously, i have never hear anyone say wow i can't wait to see everyone at my grammer school reunion.

also last night was the first time i stepped foot back in st. john fisher's gym since probably 8th grade. damn i got tall since then. i can easily grab the net now, and it is a lot easier to shoot a half court shot than it was back then. tom has a great team and a great coach. to many coaches don't have fun with their teams, tom's pratices are a blast.

last night i went up to lincoln park with doyle, siv, julie dion, and a few of siv's friends. we went to some bar called mc gee's where they have 10 cent wings. they have this promotion every wednesday in iowa city at brothers, but brothers wings are pretty cheap. last night the wings worth more than just 10 cents.

while at the bar a few screens had the best damn sport show on. on the show they had a tape of when tom arnold was in iowa city during the michigan game. it made me a little second home sick (since iowa is my second home). the hawkeyes need one more win to become bowl eligible, so please kick the living out of penn state.

last saturday vicki and i worked the usc train down to south bend for the nd game. it was so much fun and we cleaned up on tips. our train car had some mad drinkers on it. there was on guy who drank 10 screw drivers in an about 20 minutes. the only bad part of the train ride was that our toliet flooded on the way to south bend. clear toliet water was pouring all over the floor. it was a riot to see everyone reacting to it. all the pasangers were nice about it and goofed around instead of bitching us out to get some one to fix it asap. also a mr. mark prior was on our train two cars down from us. we were going to try and meet him at the end of the ride, but found out he did not come back on our train. oh well it made for a great day.

what made saturday a bad day was my iowa hawkeyes were not able to beat up on the ohio state university. i was pist off to read in the paper that nate kaeding scored all of our points. somehow he even scored our lone touchdown. i guess the day was plagued with bad special teams and snapping mistakes. i was happy to see we are still in the bcs rankings at number 15. i am sure tcu will falter and fall out of the ranks. lets go hawks!

critics corner: get off your duff and go rent bend it like beckham today. one of the greatest movies i have seen since drumline was released on video to rent. bend it like beckham plays on all the stereotypes that surround women's sports. it also teaches you a little about other cultures. a depressing moment in the film was the reference to the now defunct wusa (womens professional soccer league that ended this year). also the movie is now outdated since becks has left manchester united for real madrid. the movie has to have a love story surrounding the three main characters. david beckham and posh spice make one little cameo in the film, so don't expect a beckham highlight reel. all in all it is one great film.

also go the wallabies on their quest for the 2003 world cup of rugby!!

wait til next year! it had to be said and that is what everyone will do. lets look at the bright spots. first, what would we call the cubs if they won the world series, the loveable winners, it doesn't sound right. second, the cubs are the first chicago baseball team to win a playoff series in my lifetime, that is a start. third, we can all continue to talk about curses and hex for yet another year, i beat the billy goat tavern is happy for the free publicity. fourth, next year we will have some speed if they resign kenny lofton and corey patterson will back, don't forget about choi! congrats cubbies you had a hell of a year and made chicago the place to be for the month of october.

sox fans and cub fans should all unite to cheer for the one chicago team that has been a playoff regular since the teams inagural year, the chicago fire! the fire last night captured the u.s. cup with a one to nil win over the ex fire coach david bradley and his ny/nj metro stars. the fire are also the 2003 eastern conference champions, and the mls cup playoffs are coming in about a week. so come on chicago unite to cheer on our only team that can win on a consistant basis, the chicago fire!

in other news my house finally has its new roof up and working. last night it got its first test with a light drizzle and it held up fine. this morning they came by to finish it up. i must say it is a wierd sight seing someone through your skylight at 8:30 am while you brush your teeth.

also my mom's surgery went well and all is going good with her health now. thanks for everyone who called in to see how she was doing.

critic's corner: if you are looking for a good film to rent try rounders. rounders is a film about a card shark who is giving up the game for his lady and to start law school to straighten his life. matt damon plays the card shark and ed norton plays his best friend called worm. worm gets in some trouble and it draws damon's character back into the game to save worms life. if you are looking for a movie that has pretty much the same story line except has a pool shark instead of cards rent pool hall junkies.

its been a while since my last log and a lot has happened. last friday i learned that i am allergic to cats, or cat hair in general. after a fun night of free drinking at the bar of chicago and heading to spot 6 in wrigleyville i spent the night at tim's brothers place. tim's brother and girlfriend have 2 great cats (and i hate cats), the only bad part is i could hardly breath that night. i ended up spending 2 hours outside watching the sun rise to get some fresh air. its funny to see people chuck news papers at houses and then fix them when they see someone watching them.

so after 2 days of trying to kick this allergic reaction i am now doing good. it no longer feels like a 200 pound man sitting on my chest. i must say that night was the funniest cta ride i have ever been on. tim and his brother are a riot. thank god people laughed and did not kill us. i put some quotes up on the quote page from the train ride.

saturday i spent most of my day at my aunt mary pat and uncle charlie's place. i helped charlie trim a tree and then made my first appearance in church since easter. i am making it a goal to head there ever weekend, hopefully i will pull through on that.

the cubs have won another one and lost one since my last log. hopefully they win tomorrow so i can relax a little before the world series (if they get there).

yesterday was "throw down sunday" at the lynch house hold. katie and i were able to retrace every holiday, birthday or major event to find there has been a disagreement or yelling match on those days. we also were able to find that almost every sunday there is always someone in a bad mood. oh well in a family of 6 some one must have a bad day once and a while.

i also started up a new quotes page say check it out. i put the old ones in the archive.

the cubbies took the school of fish behind the woodshed last night and beat the living out of them. the cubs have been known for their pitching all year but not an explosive offense. holy cow a 12-3 win, hopefully we can see more of the same this friday. go cubbies!!

what an odd day. while i was walking to my grandma's house to pick up the classifieds a guy stopped me. the guy said, hey what are you up to? i replied nothing why? he asked me if i want to help lift this huge i beam off a flatbed truck with 7 other guys. being a smart kid i ask for how much. this is the sweet part, 20 dollars for 15 minutes of work. i have never been one to turn down easy money. so eight off us lift this huge beam in the front door of this house on talman. i guess they are building a huge addition onto the back of this place infront of the country club. so unemployed danny was employed for 20 minutes today.

heartbreaker is one word that could sum up the cubbies lose to the marlins last night. i am praying the cubs bats stay alive and prior shuts down the school of fish. go cubbies!!!

last night was also the never ending night for me. i couldn't sleep at all. it is never a good sign when you toss and turn until 6am. i think the stress of unemployment, the cubs lose, and the fact that i exercised before going to sleep did it to me. never do 50 push ups and 100 crunches mixed in with a light barbell workout at 12am. then again i had a stuffy nose that was preventing my sleep and i did not take any medication. i am sure i will sleep better with a cub win tonight.

i also received a nice e-mail from my old boss at wsui. she gave me a name to contact if i do not get interviewed for the wgn internship. i loved my 16 week internship at wsui.

two words can sum up my birthday, truffle shuffle. oh yes, truffle shuffle (if you were at burbon street with us you would be laughing now). oh ya and CUBS WIN!!!! CUBS WIN!!!! for the first time since 1908 the cubs won a playoff series. yes a little bit of hell has frozen over. we were able to get a nice group of people out to celebrate my birthday and a kick ass cubs victory. i was suprised to see so many cubs fans at burbon street on the south side of chi town. they had a dummy hanging from the ceiling dressed in atlanta braves clothes.

i must thank jeff for my birthday shot of jameson whiskey. also thanks to all the sox fans that put up with our cheering, tom that is directed towards you.

i am now 23 years old. how odd is that, i am now the oldest of most of my friends. just buy me a walking stick and call me old man. things i am praying will happen. 1) the bears win a game 2) the cubs win a playoff series 3)world peace. i know all three things have very slight chances of happening, but there is a chance.

the past weekend has been filled with jack black. last friday tom and i saw his new movie school of rock which was hysterical. i was amazed to see that all the kids played in real life and it was just not edited in. last night i stayed in to watch snl since i am getting sick. jack black again was a riot. hopefully the d will come out with another album soon.

go cubs!

thank you to mkb who was the first person to send me a birthday card! i had a good laugh and it was very unexpected. also thank you to aunt sue who gave me my card today. it was nice to see her in person for my birthday. usually i have been in iowa around this time of year.

tonight the cubs should take on the braves if the darn rain would just hold off for a little bit. i am praying for prior to have a no hitter, but i am sure that will not happen. GO CUBS!

so i finally heard back from enterprise through the dreaded letter in the mail. its never a good sign, and it wasn't. so its back to the drawing board to see what else is out there.

2 days until i am the big 23.

also a heads up to everyone who might try to use my cell phone number past october 6th. i decided to cancel it, so no more cell phone.

i can now say that i am a member of the holy name society at st. john fisher. monday night for the bears game tom and i headed to good ole kane hall to catch some of the game. for a 10 dollar 1 year membership you get all the beef and sausage you can eat with all the booze you want to drink. it was the first time i have been back at fisher since i graduated 8th grade back in 1995.

i must say the bears are terrible, and i now hate r.w. mc quarters. any player that puts some of the lose on the fans for being silent is a bum in my book. hey r.w. why don't you make a play or actually try gaurding your man then i will have something to cheer about you loser! sorry i had to get that out. there is all ready talk that coach dick will be let go soon if they don't win. i say get rid of the whole team, they suck! i wish we could get our offensive line back and healthy but that is not going to happen. i am prepared for a long season, i hope you are.

on a better sports note CUBS WIN!! CUBS WIN!! after nearly giving me a heart attack at the end of the game the cubs pulled one out. they have already passed my expectations for the playoffs. all i wanted was one playoff win to end the streak of 9 straight playoff loses by a chicago baseball team. the last win we had was the whitesox win back in 1993. i must put the disclaimer that yes i am a chicago fan, not strictly a cubs or sox fan. i love both teams! so i hope the sox kick ass next year and get the world series against the cubs.

sorry i am very sports orientated today. i was pumped to see that the sydney roosters are taking on the penrath panthers in the rugby league grand final. i hope sydney kicks ass. rooster, rooster fan, i want to be a rooster fan! mitch you will probably be the only one to get that.

in work news i am waiting to see what is up with enterprise car rental. since my last interview i have not been contacted. i called up the recruiter to see what the dilly was, but he was not in the office. this has occured before where i sit around for contact from enterprise for days. yes, i am still applying otehr places.

congrats to br. rice football on their 15-14 thrilling defeat of providence catholic. the celtics were the #1 ranked team in the state and had a 32 game winning streak. rice's quaterback dan nicholson is going to northern illinois next year.

the countdown is on, 4 days until i am 23 years old.
