happy halloween!!!! today i got a goodie bag filled with candy from the morning news girl. i love free candy! although it is just another day in the books. today i have a huge test that should be hard in the lovely introduction to law class. darn tests, they should be eliminated.

mcdonalds in france did a great corporate move by telling people not to eat their food. what idiots! the ads on tv in france tell kids not to eat there more than once a week. they claimed in the news that it was thier move to show mcdonalds can be part of a balanced weekly diet.

also the world has lost two great celebrities yesterday. the death of nbc 5 chicago's lead sports anchor darrian champman, champman died of a heart attack. rap artist jam master jay, of run dmc, was fatally shot in a queen's recording studio yesterday. my condolences and prayers go out to both families during their time of need.

as many of you might notice i threw up three new pages of pictures from my road trip with c mitch (craig) and the cab killa (fech). i know, its about time right! i have some nice shots of the apollo theater, ground zero, and boston. i am going to add more pictures from canada soon. i just need to create more space to put up the pictures, i am running out of memory.

this week will be pretty stressful with another law exam coming up, and a bunch of projects. i love school! this weekend i think i am going to see jackass the movie with my roommates. i heard it is a riot!

how 'bout them hawkeyes! as the drunk hawkeye fan said to me at the end of the game, "we should start collecting our rent money, because the hawkeyes own the big house." that we did! i have never seen a crowd so big, be so quiet for a game. i was also happy to only hear hail to the victor about ten times. the hawkeyes are now ranked number 9 in the ap polls, and the rose bowl now looks like an actual possibility. last night at the radio show all we could talk about was rose bowl. hopefully it happens. next up the wisconsin badgers, katie tully i am sorry, but we are going to beat you guys this year.

last night i got to hang out in the apartment of our house. aviv invited me up for some homemade german cake, and who am i to pass down free food. it was pretty nice getting to know aviv. it seems he has his pilots license, and told me he would take me flying sometime. i thought hmmm, that would be nice to get some ariel pictures of the university. we will see about that one.

last night laura called me up by mistake. what a great mistake, i have not talked to her in a little while. it was nice to play catch up.

well, it looks as though i might be headed to the big house this weekend. not jail! i talked to my dad and there is interest in driving out to see michigan take on the iowa hawkeyes, this saturday. i am up for it since this is the biggest football game for iowa in about ten years. so if anyone is home this weekend give me a call.

in funnier news i received the funniest e-mail from one of my best friends tom hayes. tom is the head coach of his sisters basketball team. all of us have been wondering when we are going to see a little bobby knight action out there. well this is probably as close to bobby as tom will come. it turns out that he was warned by a referee at the last game. tom stated that the referees were horrendous and never called any traveling calls on the other team. so after they called us for it, tom said pretty loudly, "hey, why don't you call it both ways ref." then at the next time out, the other ref came over to tom and said, "hey coach, why don't you worry about your own team." tom did not push the refs any further in order to set a good example for the team. tom, i think by calling the refs out on their inablility to make a call showed you were worrying about your team. i hope emmie and the team won it for you.

today, i fulfilled my democratic duty as an american citizen by voting! the imu was have holding satellite elections (basically you register and vote at the same time in a mail in ballot which is counted on november 7th. yup, statistic show that people my age are most unlikely to show up at the polls and vote some old bastard out of office. i did that today! no longer will these hypocrite politicians ignore the youth of america, why? because i voted! all of the people i did not vote for will say oh crap, we should have called that kid up or gone to his door to get his vote. as we all learned in the last presidential election, almost every vote counts (unless you are from florida and they have problems with that counting ballots stuff). so i urge all of my friends or anyone in the 18-25 age range to go out and vote. it will make ya feel good. so good luck to all the iowa democratic party politicians i voted for, and hey pete i voted for one republican.

the hell week also continues although my group finished our commercial project a week early. that will lighten the load a little. tomorrow i have a presentation due, and thursday a take home midterm, and another law midterm due. i hate midterms. wish me luck.

also i set up a little sign in sheet for those who want to be part of the harry potter night. shout a holla its on the left side under the ep bar crawl news.

today marks the start of my week from hell. this week i have 2 midterms, a presentation, and a commercial due for radio production. i hate weeks like this. i finished a nice psa for radio production about the why not to vote on november fifth. in real life i urge all of you to vote. i will be registering out here in lovely iowa. go democrats (except julie thomas). i will be voting for one republican this election, he has moved more toward the center, basically making him a democrat. good job jim leach. some secret ballot i got going here, huh.

so all weekend i have spent watching football and the godfather movies. what a great set of films. all the roomies gathered in one little room to watch the godfather marathon. although godfather part two was not as good as the first. michael corleone is my favorite character by far. i helped make some lasagna for the big occasion, which actually turned out good.

how 'bout them hawks! i can gloat that we won yet another game, (yes i am part of the team if i help pay the tuition of the players)hopefully we beat michigan in the big house to remain on the top of the big ten (or for you northern illinois kids the small eleven). iowa is now thirteenth in the nation.

wow, i just ran the spell check over my last log, too many spelling errors. i should stop typing these so early in the morning. yesterday, i had some of the funniest classes. thank you chuck for pointing out my error on the marcus fizer story.

many students complain about having foreign ta's that do not speak english. yesterday was the first time i have ever heard a professor dog his own ta as being worthless. somehow in this class the discussion got on how much money non english speaking ta's make, during our budget cuts. the professor brought up the point that our worthless ta gets paid regardless of whether he is helping or not. the professor made fun that this guy can only say the words, "professor miller" and "ya ya, ya ya". i thought it was probably the funniest thing i have ever watched. the ta is never around in class, so the entire class ripped on this guy for a good 20 minutes. we were all amazed he got into the university of iowa somehow.

if you want a good story about the amazing brother rice soccer team, and a player who is overcame a horrific car crash read this.

this morning's daily iowan ran an article about a feud between krui and ammie mann. krui is not playing her latest cd, because of views on royalties for web broadcasting. check out the article.

last night jen and i watched some south park. what a great show! i missed hearing erik cartman's voice. also we went through ads for a project of hers. i found this kick ass cologne that should probably cost a fortune to own. its made by armani (so that word puts the price in perspective).

last night i also finished a good book called rush limbaugh is a big fat liar by al franken. the book is hysterical. i do not suggest that pete or any of my other friends that are republicans check it out. it pretty much bashes everything conservative. i would also i like to give a shout to anthony thomas of the bears, a real american hero. he pulled someone out of a burning car. now if marcus (not michael) fizer can keep his guns out of site chicago can be proud of all its athletes.

last night jen and cableless i watched the real world las vegas in her cablefilled room. last night, steve got attacked by this girl who threw a fork at him. he got all crazed and wanted her thrown off the show. guess what? that did not happen big suprise, huh. what a horrible show.

last night i chated with sean and dad. sean told me all about how st. bernadette lost their homecoming football game. maybe next year. it also seems that i do not have insurance on my car yet. thank god that was brought to my attention, and thank god i have not moved the car from its great parking space. i sound like george castanza on seinfeld.

today has been a good school day. i got a ++ out of a +++ on my homework assignment (what ever that means). last night i got to talk to laura and my sis with all her crazy friends at ho cro. today i went for a little run and then a walk all the way to the iowa river power company (a resturant) in coralville. i should have stopped in an ate, but i was a little worn out.

today, i was watching the price is right, and did not change the channel because i didn't know what was on next. well turns out it was soaps, and it was a soap that roommate kaite likes to watch. so what the hey, i watched it. the best part of the whole show was the dad character was in a fight with his daughters boyfriend. ok that is boring, well the started fighting. the dad went for a right hook, landed it, and then as katie says kicked him with a "ball swish". it was the funniest thing i think i have ever saw on daytime tv.

the nfl is useless to watch when the bears are not playing. what a let down. do you know what is not a let down? the hawkeyes are number 15 in the nation now. what a turn around. when i was a freshman we won one game against niu on hayden fry day. last nights sports talk show went great as usual. this was the first time we had headsets for the show. let me tall ya, its a little wierd hearing yourself talk. thank you sister katie, for being the first person i am aware of to attempt to listen to the show. darn audio streams were down, again.

i just got out of politics of the far east with professor kim. he is the teacher that dominates my quotes page. well today he had his funniest quote. he was handing back assignments and the kid called before me was an african american fellow (how politically correct of me, right. he got up there and kim looks at him and says, "this cannot be your paper you do not look like a dan lynch". i start laughing my ass off while i am walking up to get my paper. the african american kid just gives him a blank stare. to which he says to the kid, "i hope you are not offended by my comment". the kid just walked back to his seat with a smirk.

since no one watches cbs nfl today football show (since the bears are always on fox) i will fill you into the wonders of deon sanders. today, deon was explaining an altercation that occurred this week between emmit smith and another cowboys player. deon brought out a bobble head doll, and explained to the audience that emmit smith "gave this guy a pimp slap". hmmmm, deon didn't stop there illustrating for the crowd how to give a "palm handed pimp slap". deon after smacking the doll said, "am i allowed to say that on tv. well deon you just did!

how 'bout them hawkeyes! we won another one. order your rose bowl tickets now (a joke of course). i stood through the entire game even though raining and cloudy skies were present through the whole game. i was amazed that 69,000 stayed to watch most of the game. an interesting note, the score board at kinnick stadium welcomed 3 representatives from the rose bowl, 2 reps from the sun bowl, and 2 from the motor city bowl. i will be happy if we don't end up in detroit or el paso.

yesterday, i also busted out the new ride. the '92 grand marquis is one smooth ride. although all i did was go grocery shopping, it was one of the highlights of my day.

so last night my group finally finished our radio new show paying tribute to the university of iowa in the 80's. it finished up nicely, and radio show with devo in the backgrounds has to get some laughs.

here is an interesting story. last night my roommate jen came home upset at our public safety officials. why? yesterday some girl was walking by the imu and saw jen's bike. the girl called up public safety saying she found her bike which has been missing for 2 years, yes 2 years. the public saftey came and took jen's bike while she was in class. so she thought it was stolen. now there is some huge debate, and this girl had to prove she has the registration numbers on the bike. good luck lady. it is kind of scary to think all i need to do is say hey that bike looks nice i will say it was stolen from me two years ago.

i would like to acknowledge that sister katie was the 3000 visitor to the website. congrats katie....you get nothing. katie did give me some of her notre dame v. michigan pics so i threw those up. thanks katie. the counter on the holla thing was messed up so it will not count, but you can still hit me up with some comments for my posts or the page in general. oh ya, i am not ripping of livejournal.

last night i went out with roommate katie to wing ding at brothers. i love cheap booze an food. today during the radio the dj's did a tribute to the new avril lavigne. how poetic is this line, "he said he is a skaterboy, she said see ya later boy. your not cool enough for me." wow, now that is some profound words that should be next to langston hughes.

i added a new comment section to the page, making it easier to leave notes or hollas. as the new harry potter movie is coming out, i am asking all my friends (who actually want to see the movie) to wait and see it when everyone comes in for thanksgiving. i talked to laura and kristen, they both agreed. also thanks kristen for the happy birthday im last night.

today we finished recording voice overs for our news project for radio production. my group decided to do a retrospective on the UI during the 1980s. we figured it was original.

last night aviv came downstairs to talk politics. aviv's views were a little off from ours so i think my head was about to burst. we argued for about 2hours about unions and other fun stuff. i have never watched a debate where both sides were arguing without listening to what the other sides were saying. lets just say aviv is not going to get a warm reception his next trip downstairs.

when i was home last weekend i was watching the "u". it turns out my beloved showtime at the apollo has a new time, station, and name. ya that is right. no longer showtime at the apollo it is showtime in harlem. it is on the "u" sunday, at 6pm. they also added some new features. such as apollo teens. i mean still the same great theater. check it out.

today in public opinion professor miller gave us a free bag of m&ms. we had to seperate each color in order to show how a random sample usually is around 50/50. it was pretty cool, i almost had the most purple ones in the class.

i was bored and went onto the harry potter site. i was sorted by the sorting hat to be in gryffindor. if you want to be sorted go to the harry portter site.

2002 october 7

last night i talked to laura for the first time in awhile. i was excited to get score updates on the twins game (since i have no fox on my tv). i would also like to thank laura for the kenny rogers e-card. it was really funny.

sorry sis katie, my phone was off last night to recharge it. i will give ya a ring later today after the bears game. go bears! go bears! beat packers! beat packers! (i learned that from katie this week during the nd game).

2002 october 5

wow, 22 years-old. the top thing i heard from: craig, andy, jeff, and almost all my other friends was, "you old man". i look at it as 22 years young. this birthday was pretty fun. i went home and hung out with family and friends. i also watched the iowa hawkeyes defeat purdue in one hell of a game. the hawks are now #17 (in the ap polls) in the nation.

oh ya, i also got a car! yup for a birthday present i purchased a car from aunt sue and uncle don. it is a great feeling of having the possibility to go anywhere. thank you so much! thank you everyone else for wishing me a happy birthday, and to andy for driving up and hanging out at ding bats. you are all great family and friends and i love you guys!

2002 october 4

wow, the early birthday wishes are coming in. thank you so much for that nice e-mail julie (very unexpected) it was nice hearing from you. i hope france is a blast. thank you also to laura, thank you for shouting a holla from your website. your a great friend and i am glad we meet (and that you are going on the ep bar crawl).

this weekend i am trucking home. yup, instead of catching iowa v. purdue i might go see the northwestern wildcats beat up on ohio state (my prediction from the call in show last night). i think it will be fun to surround myself with friends and family. if northwestern falls apart we might hit up some bars or parties. so if you will be in the chicagoland area call me up.

also katie i hope you are feeling better after your recent hospital visit. i will be home soon enough to bug you.

2002 october 3

well the radio went well this morning. only one major problem, dilek the news girl failed to show up. this creates a problem. it messed up the intro, and people were probably not listening to my sportscast, and instead wondering where is the news? we are now web broadcasting again, so if you are bored i am going to be on the sports opinion tonight at 7 to 8pm listen in.

last night i went out with katie and roger to brother's for dollar highlife, the champagne of beers (i do not support underage drinking, so katie, sorry you can't visit this site until your 21) and 10 cent wings (guess which one i bought more of?) we also talked about how our upstairs neighbor has a streaky attitude. some times he is a complete jerk and creep, but then sometimes he is very nice. last night he told us how he was going to propose to his girl friend (we were thrown off by this since we have never meet the girl and she lives above us). i wonder which aviv we will run into today.

finally added one new pic (its at the bottom of the page) from a party at kevin daulton's house, freshman year end of first semester. it was my first attempt at a beard.

2002 october 2

last night the discussion continued with katie, jen, and rachel about cool names for kids. thank god aviv came down from upstairs to get some good israeli names. one new good one was anastasia marie.

my roommate katie was the first person to ever capture my big green pants on camera! who would have thought all those years in highschool looking like a goof, and no one took incriminating photos. her and jen were amazed that my feet were not visible, while wearing the big greenies. anything to make people laugh.

2002 october 1

watch danny cross the iowa river, or watch danny walk on the pentacrest. wierd the university has about 5 or 6 webcams i never knew about, talk about big brother.

our basketball team has a new interesting possible criminal on its hands. pierre pierce is pleading not guilty to sexual assult charges. hmmmm, what i found interesting is that a friend from krui told me about this last week, and the story is only breaking now. how odd, i thought the press would be all over this one. if pierce leaves that means we only have 7 or 8 scholarship players left on the team. ouch!

my roommate rachel made muffins this morning at 7am. it was perfect when i woke up at 9am and she was done with her last batch. lets say that it was one of the best unexpected suprises. i finished the september archive so check it out.
