today i waited in line for an hour to get tickets to hear bono (of u2) speak at the imu on december 2nd. i was lucky enough to get back in line to another ticket. bono's lecture is titled "heart of america: africa's future and ours".
today i am driving back to chicago for the thanksgiving holiday. all those going to harry potter will get phone calls pretty soon about what the deal is. so if you will be in chicago sometime this week give me a call.

this weekend i am excited to be going to my first notre dame game since i was about six or seven. i think it will be a blast. i am really upset that the niu game is not on friday night, but saturday. i am heading out of the lovely iowa city on friday after class.
today i started my first objective as part of the krui web design team. all i had to do was make the guestbook work, and i did. by the start of next semester we will have a whole new page up and running. should be a good time. i wish i had more than one semester to work on it though. well to all good things there must come an end.
rumor mill has it that bono might be giving a talk the monday after thanksgiving in iowa city. i hope he does, no one famous comes to visit here except tom arnold (if you want to call him famous).

last night i went to see the iowa men's basketball team take on team nike. i thought we did not look all that bad in our win. since the team is going to have a tough year ticket prices are down. i got in last night for only ten dollars.
the game though was overshadowed by a hundred or so protestors against pierre pierce. it seems more and more likely that people want him kicked off campus. i am not sure though that will ever happen. i just wonder why this case went into mediation instead of going to trial. one paper had the assistant attorney in johnson county saying the women had a solid case against him. you be the judge, recently both sides of the story were released, woman that was assulted's side and a report on pierre pierce's side.
tom gave me a call last night, which was nice since i had not talked to him in a while. sounds like everyone is excited about the potter, and the numbers should be larger than last year. yes, this year you can also bring older people. tom might bring his mom now.

last night was a riot in my house. i had to take measurements for my suit at tj and renae's wedding. all they needed was my chest size for the suit. so i went to jen to borrow her tape measure, and we took the measurement. then we figured out that it was in centimeters and needed to be in inches. well us all being non math majors and idiots went to go ask the engineers of the house aviv and emily for the conversion. so we changed it into inches and it came out with this odd number or at least we thought. so rachel came in to save the day, she was laughing to death about me not asking her to help out. i was unaware that she worked in retail for four years. so she helped out and did a bunch of measurements . this made life so much easier. turns out sean is growing bigger than me each day, unless i am losing wait at a rapid speed. who knows maybe it is both. so thank you to all in my house for their help.
this morning was busy, i got a new tire for the car and registered for classes. my tentative schedule for my last semester is: russia and post soviet politics, television production, recital attendance, quest for human destiny, and multimedia writing with a film essay emphasis. sounds like it should be fun.
turns out that i needed a new tire since the old one had been punctured by a rather large nail. they guy said i could patch it, but since the hole was so large he did not know how long it would last. so i said give me a new one. since i was a student and a hawkeye fan the nice guy gave me free labor and only charged me for the price of the tire. so any one looking for a good deal go to iowa city tire.

today my radio production class is going on a field trip. i am excited, it will be only my third college class with a field trip. lets see there was the museum sudies course and architecture in iowa city. fun times. this field trip we are going to wsui studios on campus to check out their work. should be fun.
also while craig was here friday night we took their team to the union (the biggest bar in the big ten). that place went downhill since freshman year. so to class up the night we went to college street billards. i beat craig in every game of pool except maybe two.

how 'bout them hawkeyes the hawkeyes are now number four in the espn/usa today coaches poll and we are ranked fifth in the ap poll. this is the first time since 1922 that an iowa football team has gone undefeated in the big ten. this year was also the most wins recorded in school history (with eleven). also to think that my freshman year we were 1-10, sophomore year 3-9, junior year 7-5 (alamo bowl champs), and this year 11-1.
i watched the game with a bunch of old people from my freshman floor and some of my old roommates from the house sophomore year. it was nice to get see everyone. buffalo wild wings was going insane! we also stayed around to watch the worst defense in the world illinois lose to ohio state. i guess beujter was never going to be a help in iowa's future. after the games i ran down to carver-hawkeye arena where they were having a pep rally to welcome back the big ten champs. it was unreal. they already had the big ten trophy with them and the place was going nuts. hopefully we land the rose bowl.
last night jen and i went upstairs to a party in aviv and emily's apartment. it was full of grad students and professors. yup, jen and i was the only undergrads there. it was a great time, very nice people, free food and booze. i also found out that aviv has a website.

my friend john fech has finally completed his website, visit john fech. there is also a page of mr. lynch playing softball at the old man night. thanks for the link to my site john. thanks also to timmy for shouting a holla on the guestbook.
it looks like i am hanging around iowa city this week instead of heading to minnesota. the game is sold out and my car might have a flat tire. yes, i am pist off. craig is coming up this weekend though so that should be fun.
today my group had to play their radio drama that we created. although i edited most of the project i was upset that we didn't do more. we created a radio cartoon adventure about a super hero named right man. i did the voice of a gay janitor and the announcer. everyone laughed their ass off so that was cool.

there might be a shot in hell now that i am going to head up to minnesota to watch the hawkeyes hopefully clinch a big ten title. i called chris perez up yesterday to see if he was interested. he was, so there is the shot in hell.
hey laura if you know of any free or cheap hotels hook me up with some info. i hate that you will be in san fran, but at least if i come out this time i will know how to visit you next semester. also good luck on your trip to san fran. i will say this now since you are more likely to check my site today.

i would like to give a belated shout to veterans day. thank you to all that have served to keep our country safe.
today i went to court.....to observe a trial. although a state's attorney did question me if i was there for trial. i laughed and said i am here to watch. the trial i watched kicked ass. it was full of swearing and one pist off defendant. turns out riding on a motorcycle doing 83 in a 55 is against the law. i think someone should have told the defendant that.
today i also purchased the new star wars two dvd. i am such a geek, but what the hell i got my free calendar that has one picture of natalie portman.
today i learned that i am going to be part of a group of three to design the new krui website. kick ass huh. be ready for that!

today was the communication departments coupon day for seniors. i was the first in line again by showing up at five am. yup five am, ouch huh. then you have to sit in line until some old women gets there at eight to pick up the courses. i want to pick up television production for my final semester. i am so tired, but i can not take a nap, because i have class in an hour. maybe i will take a quick one at the engineering building, they have the nice leather chairs.
what the hell is wrong with the chicago bears??? they came way to close to winning that game. are they crazy, they should be playing for the first round draft pick. jim miller and chris chandler should retire from the nfl, they suck.

go u northworstern fight for victory.....those poor mildcats. i felt bad that we didn't score that last touchdown that would have put us in the 70-10 beat down of northworstern. in the press box the rep from northworstern kept coming up to me and the other press guys saying how bad they are. i think we all knew that without him telling us. the entire second half all of us just started watching the ohio state victory over purdue. i thought purdue had it won, i hate kyle orton.
at the end of the game i got to walk on the field and attend randy (not larry) walker's press conference (coach of the mildcats). he was pist off! so after he was done i went to the hawkeyes locker room. i meet all the of the big stars: brad banks, dallas clark, c.j. jones, fred russell, and many others.
head coach kirk ferentz from iowa gave me a pat on the shoulder as i walked into his news conference. i thought that was kind of cool. i told him great game he said thanks. i thought he was a really nice guy. i also had a discussion with two members representing the orange bowl about where they should go in iowa city. i gave them some good spots to hit. they were really nice people. all in all possibly my last game working the press box at kinnick was a blast.

last night katie (roommate) and jen stopped into the room to watch some tv. after watching an arby's ad about their new chicken sandwich we pilled into my car. i think it was the first time an ad on tv worked so well we had to go and get the product. i don't think that is a good sign, i hope no good infomercials come on when we hang out again.
i got the press pass for the northworstern v. iowa game this saturday. that means all the free food i can eat, and i don't have to freeze outside. it is also the last home game at kinnick stadium i will get to watch while being a student at the university of iowa. i figured since its senior day, and i am a senior it will be a nice way to end my four career as a student hawkeye fan. i can't believe this is the last time i can walk out of my door down a few blocks to tailgate and hit up the game. after graduation i get to become one of those alumni crazed fans. oh ya tom in response to your e-mail, go hawks! beat mildcats!
i would also like to plead to all people i know from purdue (i think there are about four of you) to get your football team to beat the living out of ohio state. it would mean a lot to the little state of iowa. also i hope illinois gets destroyed by their opponent this weekend.

how random has the last few days been, very random for me. i have been talking to people on im that i have not talked to for about five months. also one of my friends from brother rice who used to go to the naval academy transferred to iowa this year. i just found out about this last night. what a small world! welcome to iowa chris perez.
this morning's sports report went perfect. no mistakes, i love reading sports, no weird country names.
i talked to my old freshman and sophomore year roommate ryan last night. he started a hip hop type beastie boys group call the chitown kids with mark and chris, all from beverly. the music mostly focuses on the lovely town of chicago. the album sounds great ryan. you can download it at the chi-town kids website.

well its the day after the election, and what happened to my democrats? after holding a one seat advantage over the republicans in the senate, that is no more. the republicans gained two seats while the dems lost two. this is a bad idea on so many levels. the main one is who know will be able to stop or slow down some crazy bush legislation? i was surprised to see no one went for the lovely vote of a divided government, which adds checks and balances to the president. i was happy to see that all the iowans i voted for won their races. i was also ecstatic to see that rod blagojevich is now the new governor of illinois! this is the first time in about twenty-five years a democrat has held that office. way to go rod! i am very disturbed to see that lisa madigan won her race in illinois for i think state attorney. how can someone who has never tried a case in court win as a state attorney. that is scary!
other than that i found out i did not do so hot on my law test, then again the class average was around a 57/75. that is never a good sign. i still hold onto a b though, which is not to bad.
i am going to send out an e-mail to all the interested harry potter goers soon about a date, place, and how the tickets will work out. ok the mass e-mail was just sent out to most the harry potter people. so if you didn't get it send me an e-mail

after a great victory by the hawkeyes what did our starting running back against wisconsin do? jermelle lewis is being charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. way to go jermelle! gess, does iowa have any athletes that don't break the law??? oh ya, i can finally have bragging rights over katie tully who attends lovely university of wisconsin, madison (although i don't think i will use them).

how 'bout them hawkeyes! we now moved ahead of notre dame in the polls, i know shocking. the hawkeyes are currently sixth in the ap and espn polls. now if we can win our last two games against the northworstern mildcats and minnesota we have a rose bowl hope. we also need ohio state to lose a game.
