1. last year the parade marshall's were told to knock any cups of beer out of the hands of drinkers along the parade route. i think that would have caused a riot.
2. eating so much cornbeef, leaving no room for booze
3. running into all the random people i have not seen in 8 years
4. walking along side the osco drag racing shopping cart and having my ears ring for days
5. wearing out the big greenies and getting chased around beverly
6. pat and i stealing a life size poster of angie everhart wearing her green back in 8th grade

things have been pretty hectic here so that is why i have not wrote anything in a week. my grandma had open heart surgery last friday at christ hospital. i have visited her everyday since then and she is improving as time goes by, please keep her in your prayers. my sis was also at christ's emergrency room on thursday after having pains in her side. she is doing well and is now back out at wiu. i felt like an operator keeping in touch with my dad who was in atlanta on buisness on thursday, tj and renae in sydney, and all the area friends and family. in that week since my last log i had a job interview which i will find out soon if i got it. hopefully i do this out of work stuff is no fun and very unproductive. i did get the oppurtunity to design a new site for the moving relocations specialist out of north las vegas. an old co-worker at c&l hooked me up with it, its her sister's husbands company. thank you so much donna for calling me up. tom and i went to the holy name meeting on friday to watch the illini get tossed out of the ncaa tournament. i was a bit upset since duke had to win. turns out steve alford lost yet another basketball player, ben rand. ben was a freshman last season who saw walk-ons play before him. guess he wasn't cut out for big ten ball. since the start of last season alford lost henderson and dewittz to poor academics, shondeliner to personal reasons, rand for being terrible. bad news for the already horrible program.
my fantasy baseball team has been selected north side style. what do i mean by north side style? every player i have is on the chicago cubs except my first baseman, damn you powers. derek lee was taken before i could pick him up so i just got an ex-cub hee sop choi. i think he is due for a good year. tom and andrew told me people were making fun of my strategy but it will make watching the cubs interesting. a notice to all: i am a fan of all chicago sports teams. by no way did my draft reflect an anti-white sox view. i am an admitted fair weather fan. my ultimate goal is to see an all chicago world series. there is no bigger thrill than getting to play golf during the cold months. never in my life would i have thought about playing in december and march. last saturday siv, mitch, pete and i braved the windy conditions for 9 holes at stony creek.
 depaul lucked out last night becuase of drake diener's free throw shooting, 10 of 10 from the line. andre brown looked horrible getting out rebounded in ot, going 0-10 in free throws, and making some bad passes. i thought billy packer (cbs announcer) was going to give brown a free throw lesson during the game. depaul got lucky the dayton flyers were almost worse than the demonds from the line. it was winning ugly as most chicago sports teams do.as for iowa getting bounced in the first round of the nit, they suck. there are only three good players on that team horner, pierce, and brunner. if alford can't put people around them we will be horrible for the next two years. you can't be a good team with walk ons getting a good chunk of playing time. i hope we have the best recruiting class in the nation next year. we might make it to the second round of the nit then.

united states senate - barack obama representative in congress - 1st congressional district - bobby rush for delegates to the national nominating convention - i mixed it up with a few supporting each candidate but the majority were for kerry state's attorney of cook county - dick devine judge of the circuit court cook county judicial circuit - timothy patrick murphy that is all i could recall, good luck to all the candidates. i was a little upset that i didn't get my usual "you voted" pin. i just got this little piece of paper saying thanks, you can't wear a piece of paper around. this was also the first time i had to deal with hanging chads. in iowa's absentee ballots you just connect a line to make an arrow to who you vote for. go hawkeyes, tonight starts our run towards the nit final four in new york city. i would rather play in new york thank san antonio (ya right, i just don't have any other option). iowa plays saint louis university, luken and i have already tradded some trash talk.
friday night hynek and i hit up the simeon v. hyde park sectional title game at st. xavier. the game was filled with amazing dunks and a crazy crowd. two brave hyde park fans carried a sign around at half time saying "simeoff". it was great when they held it right in front of simeon's cheerleaders. simeon won the game. after the game hynek and i did a small e.p. bar crawl. we hit up panos, hearts, and skip's new evergreen. skip's is actually a pretty nice place. the highlight of the night was watching a bunch of under age kids getting bounced from hearts for fake i.d's.
congrats goes out to the uic flames who are the 2004 horizon league champs! there was nothing better than seeing jimmy collins dancing a jig at the end of the game. i also hate the uw-milwaukee fans so that was a nice bonus to see them lose on their home court. hey you are you ready to rumble, today is opening day!! the 2004 rugby league season kicked off with andrew johns and the new castle knights beating last years premiership winners the penrith panthers 20-14. this is one of the days i wish i was in australia drinking some vb watching the footy. i have to find a bar with fox sports world, they will be televising all there state of origin games and the game of the week. this also means the footy show is back on the air with fatty and the gang, bring back the biff!!
5 days until the white parade marshals jacket comes out.
my job interview on friday was a little different. it was a group interview which no one spoke and we just got the low down on the buisness. after a 10 minute explanation i had to take 4 personality tests and 1 timed logic test. all this for a simple marketing/executive assistant postion. i hate personality tests with a passion, i really don't understand their use. i will here on monday if i get to the next round. last night went to see starsky and hutch. if you like old school you will probably love this movie. it was hysterical and has the same cast as old school just switch owen for luke wilson and add ben stiller. they even brought the wedding singer of old school to sing in this film. i just read they are making a sequal to old school where they head to daytona on spring break.
yesterday while i was in c and l doing web work i found out my buddy jeff put out a fire. jeff was working at an assisted living place and a person ran out of their office yelling fire. jeff took control and put out the fire using water from a fish bowl (there was no fish in it). congrats jeff for saving the day. the cause of the fire was a candle that i think was knocked over. i put all the old february logs into an archive so check that out, the february archive. also i put up the countdown for the southside irish day parade. there is a new webcam picture and 10 to celebrate the updoming st. patrick's day. . . . m a r c h � 2 0 0 4 . . . |
