ding dong the finals are gone!!!!! i just finished up with my introduction to law final, and am ready to get to australia. for anyone in the chicago land area i am coming home tomorrow morning and will be leaving for australia on the 22nd then home on january 7th and back out to iowa city on january 15th. so shout me a holla.

2002 december 16

yeah, its finals week! its always funny to see every room in the library packed with people. this morning rachel was nice enough to bake me and jen buttermilk pancakes. it was the first time i have had breakfast in a while. right now i am just killing time until my take home final at 2:15. it should not be tough, just a lot of writing.

2002 december 13

yesterday, i bought some movies to watch over break. i picked up lord of the rings, dead poet society, and moulin rouge. ok, i figured moulin rouge was only five dollars, and it is a good flick. maybe i can pawn it off on someone for a christmas gift.

in a source of inspiration for finals i have started to watch the movies that make me feel like i can conquer the world, or at least finals. good will hunting was last night, that chap from notre dame rudy will be sometime this weekend, and every morning i wake up these next couple days i will sieze the day with 20 minutes of dead poet society. yes, i am a geek.

the apollo radio documentary is now complete. if anyone wants to take a listen shout me a holla. it only took seven hours in the studio to perfect, or at least make it sound good.

today i get to put the final touches on the apollo documentary, fun fun. i am pissed, because i forgot my keys all the way back in the room. now i have to make to round trips just to retrieve them.

i am excited that the apollo radio documentary is almost complete. i have spent around 6 hours working on this little 5 minute project. i hope everyone likes it. also c mitch you are in that thing for a couple of minutes so be prepared to listen to it.

if you want to see some kick ass pictures of iowa city and the dj thing i went (we won't call it a rave) to with cousin ellen go to her roommates jes' webpage. there is a picture of me on the there, crazy me.

last night at the sanctuary was pretty fun. i never knew that iowa city had classy bars. of course i find them when i am about to graduate soon. tim you kick ass on the sax. it was a great performance.

god bless professor miller who decided to give us an optional final in public opinion. what great news. now i only have a take home final and a intro to law final and i am done this year. how exciting. again god bless arthur miller. i of course will not take the final because i am happy with my high b/ low a.

also tonight our radio production class will be heading to the sanctuary to hear tim play with his jazz band. 2.50 pints of guiness. not a bad night at all. i figure this might be my last night out until after finals.

also good luck to siv, jessa, and mkb they are taking finals this week at lovely wiu. kick ass kids. also congrats brad banks on becoming the first hawkeye to win the ap player of the year.

i would like to wish all of my friends taking their finals this week good luck. tom and lynn at uic, kristen at purdue, timmy mike and pete at niu, katie tulley in wisconsin, katie and kevin in the south bend college area, laura at st. thomas. i know i might have left some people out like the u of i kids, e-mail me tell me when your finals are.

i am going to be home the morning of the 19th after my last final wednesday night. then i am heading to australia on the 22nd and coming back on january 7th. shout me a holla if you will be around any of those days.

so everyone in iowa should change those rose bowl plans to lovely miami and the orange bowl. i know a lot of people are a little sad that iowa will not be in pasadena. it should be the best match up since miami will destroy ohio state, and who really cares about the sugar bowl, the rose bowl should be a blow out. so iowa vs. usc pits the nations two best quarterbacks in palmer vs. banks. should be fun to watch. i hope australia carries the game.

last night i went up to the cage with cousin ellen to listen to some dj's. good music. i loved when dj.com broke into a little dj funk. god bless dj. funk.

2002 december 5

so last night i remember that the poly sci lecture is a waste of time. i went to it when i was a junior. things here have been crazy busy. i have a presentation and a paper due next week. i have already spent four hours on the apollo radio documentary. school is giving me a head ache.

tonight i will be doing the sports call in show, and i have the press pass for tomorrow's mens basketball game. its a tournament so i think i get two free meals out of the university. i love being in the press.

2002 december 4

it has been a busy last few days in iowa city, and they are likely to continue through the next three weeks. monday night cousin chuck, jen, and i went to hear bono give a lecture on aids and africa. ashley judd ended up being there, and playing a small role in the lecture. it was pretty powerful and scary to hear that nothing is really being done to help. at the end of the lecture bono broke out the tape player and sang a long with a new u2 hit "american prayer". when you get to the top of the mountain, can you tell me what you see (lyrics from the song)?

after the lecture jen and i meet up with katie and headed to the village inn for some late night grub. i love the village inn. it is no hamburg inn though, i have to get back to that place.

last night i was up until 3:30 am finishing my paper on the media of south korea. i want to take a nap now, but i cannot. tonight is the political science departments how to get a job with your degree. now to think about it i remember going to it a couple years ago. eh, maybe they will come up with some new ones.

2002 december 2

wow, that was a busy last week. the numbers are in, and harry potter night was a sucess at thirty-six people. that filled two and a half full rows. don't ask me how we got that many people to go. it was great, and thank you for every one who came.

also over the week we made the rounds around a few beverly bars, baily's and mc nalleys. on friday night a couple of us were treated to the vip life at the bar chicago. free drinks for an hour and a half. i thought it was funny that i randomly bumped into kelly from radio production there.

on saturday, kristen beat me in two straight games of chess. i should stop talking while i play and concentrate more. tee hee. i will have to practice more.
