first off, HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY to Renae!! your the greatest aussie in the world. i hope you had a great day.

ah the start of college football, nothing could be sweeter. niu ended up winning as i knew they would. it was the second greatest college football game i have watched. today it got even better with an iowa victory and an illinois loss. illinois wearing their all orange prison issued uniforms could not overcome a scrub missouri team. iowa on the other hand a solid game. we were able to pick off miami (oh) heisman trophy candidate qb 4 times. go hawks!

tomorrow is the big hayes golf outing. i am hoping that i can at least shoot a reasonable score. sean will have to carry the team this year i think.

tomorrow i am heading out to dekalb to see niu take on maryland in the first college game this season. i am predicting a landslide victory by the huskies. win or loose we all going to harold's chicken after the game.

katie (sis) has recently added to her rebellious actions by getting a nose piercing while in canada. i can honestly say that is something i will never try. we were happy that all family members have laughed about it. i am trying to keep count of people that think it was a bad idea, so far its been the majority.

to recap the weekend, jeff had a great gathering at his house on friday night. it was great to catch up with some old friends and meet some new people. it is always fun when you are able to pop into the hot tub at 4:30am. also thanks to mike for the free burrito!

on sunday tom and i hit a practice round to get ready for the hayes golf outing this weekend. i shot a 37, ya right i might have had a 37 on one hole. it was a rough start but i was able to par one whole. it was my victory for the day. hopefully next weekend i will play a little better.

today was a blast, katie and i headed to "the bend" (south bend, in) to catch up with some of her friends. we meet up with burke and he gave us a tour of dillion hall. these kids are living large, i never saw dorm rooms that big. i was able to buy "the shirt" which is the official t-shirt worn by the student section at football games. it needs a little shrinking but it still looks good. katie took me into the nd admissions building and the basilica. my favorite moment was going to the grotto to light a candle and say a pray. it was probably the most religious thing i have done in awhile.

after the nd tour we headed to st. mary's college to pick up katie's friend katie. it is pretty nice for an all girls school. we then meet up with angie at ho cro and went out to dinner. it has been the most productive i have been for some time now.

tonight the cubs and sox have a shot at being in breaking an old record. if the sox and cubs take first in their divisions it will be the latest in the season both teams have held the spot since 1907.

i think i have been catching pennant fever the last few weeks. this is the first year in my life that both teams have a playoff chance. i hope both teams will make it into the playoffs, but i think the white sox have a better shot right now. then again who knows what will happen. it seems though the cubs are the media darling.

the job search has slowed down. i finally hammered out my final resume after making a few additions to it. starting monday i am going to start sending out a minimum of 10 resumes a day. i figure sooner or later i will get a call or e-mail. thank you to luken and mary who have both submitted my resume at their jobs.

i have started uploading pictures from the australia/new zealand trip. i should have the site up and running by the end of the week. in the meantime i put up a new webcam pic of me with nice slick back hair. i was going for the mike ditka look.

yesterday was the second annual tim and dan at the arlington million race day. this year c mitch joined us for some gambling and horse watching. i started off the day in great fashion winning on my first three bets. then things started to go wrong. after betting sure bets for favored horses to show they ended up in the middle of the pack. i entered the million determined to regain my true betting form. tim and i were upset that the quinella we won on last year is no longer around, it is now an exacta box (i hate exacta boxes). so i decided a solid bet would be hoses 1 and 4 in the exacta box. i was sure it was a solid bet that would pay off at least 30 dollars. so the race starts and my horses are hanging in the middle of the pack. they make the final turn and my horse 4 moves into the lead, horse 1 starts moving to the front. it appeared in the end that i had won pretty big, but wait their was a cry of foul play. two jockeys protested the result and it went under review. what do you think occured next? ya that is right with my luck my horse 4 was disqualified. what the hell! it was a feeling of having taxs taken out of a nice size check or getting knocked out in a fight. i was robbed and so were a lot of people in the stands. i have never heard booing at a horse race. it turns out my horse slowed down and cut right infront of three on coming horses. i believe if my jockey kept the horse sraight we all would have walked away winners. it didn't happen though and the jockey got tossed from the horse and his head was run ove by a few of the charging horses. he was all right though and in the hospital.

the day was good though and we all had a blast. timmy and i were dressed up although timmy out classed us all. after a great day we headed to bennigan's with pete for a brew and food. it was nice to see pete for the first time since my journey to australia. after that it was bar time.

we meet up with mary and headed to the greatest bar in the ol, george's. i made up for my losing ways by making the greatest 3 point shot to win against mary and c mitch. mary though had the best shot ever knocking off three of our discs on one throw, simply amazing. after george's we headed to sean's rhino bar. its a nice western bar and it was my first ever visit. i ran into almost every beverly person that went to the university of iowa. it was nice to catch up with some of my old roommates from the house sophomore year.

for the night cap we had to finish in style. the only place to do that at 2:30am is to head to hearts in the village of ep. we decided we would walk in take a shot and head right back out that door. after being under charged for our shots called the purple hooter by the great bartender we took off. what a great full day!

a quick congrats to tj who picked up tickets to the world rugby cup coming this october in australia. he will be seing romania take on world cup under dog argentina. good on ya t! wish i was going.

tom's b-day was a blast. it is always great when you can drink with the hayes family. i bet the people from cork and kerry will be wondering where we are tonight. i have been there 3 times in the last week and a half.

i have noticed lately that our block is becoming a tourist attraction. since there is a brand new house being built next door to us people come in droves. i went to play some ball and the next thing i know eight cars through out the day stopped for a few minutes to look at the house. i mean come on folks evergreen park has so much more to offer tourists than a new house. people should drive by the renovation of the e.p. plaza. they can also drive by all the new massive garages being built for village cars.

another note about the house being built is the singing construction workers. ok when i used to deliver lights all the consturction sites would list to loud music. older guys would have on the hair bands or classic rock, newer guys would have some gansta rap. our builders sing along with the mix. its not the toughest station, but when i hear some guy singing along with mandy moore and jewel i have a problem. its bad enough we have to put up with the hammering.

so bad news in the rugby league front, joey johns has a serious neck injury. it migh sideline him for life. i would like to wish joey all the best and get back to the game asap.

HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY to CRAIG AND TOM! in the hustle and bustle of the birthday season this will be my third time in cork and kerry in the last week or so. i love cork and kerry, what a great beer garden.

i know have all 400 pics from mitch and my australian adventure. i have some great ideas for the pics and hope to have it up and running within a week, stay tuned.

busy busy busy me! i decided that i needed to have yet another vacation. ok, it was not as long or excititng as a 2 month trip to australia. my dad took sean and i to louisville, kentucky for a night while he had to do buisness. it was an unexpected blast. i was against going since there is so little a person can do with only one night in a city. i have learned from my trip to new york, bosoton and brisbane that you can do a lot in a night.

our trip started off after making the decision to go. we took off at one and headed down to indianapolis for our first event. since us lynchs love little league baseball what better why to start a trip then cathing a game. no e.p. was not playing, but the game did feature a team from eldridge, iowa. it was the championship game for the midwest regional and the winner was going to williamsport. we managed to find the field in the middle of a ghetto and caught the last 5 innnings. iowa won of course and we started our descent to kentucky. we arrived in louisville at around ten at night and we walked around the louisville bats (great name huh) minor league field. it was a nice place built a few years ago. after the walk around the park we headed to our hotel for the night.

with a day ahead of us sean and i slept in as dad left for a 7am metting. when he got back to the hotel we decided to hit every major tourist attraction in louisville (there are only two). we drove the car a few blocks to the louisville sluggers museum. what a great place! they also make hockey sticks and golf clubs, i thought they just made bats. after that we made our way to churchill downs where they run the kentucky derby. it was wierd to see that also is in a ghetto. they were renovating some of the grandstands so that was interesting to see. after that we headed back up to indianapolis to see what else but the great indianapolis speedway. we decided to take a quick bus tour that drives you through the actual track. it was to bad the bus only does about 30mph. turn one is a tough one and the finish line is made up of a brick strip (that is where they get some of the name brickyard). there is a golf course in the middle with 4 holes (the other 14 are outside the track). it was a great 2 days! oh ya some guy ran into the side of our car on a 10 speed as we pulled out of our hotel lot. everyone was all good!

first, HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY MKB!!!

so the last couple of days have been very chill. last night i finally decided it is time to get over jetlag. it was the first time i have been in bed around 12:45am in a long time. it was nice to rise up at 9 and have a full day of doing nothing. after pulling weeds due to being bored my home looks spotless. lets just say my parents were suprised. harry potter is coming along pretty nicely i am now up to page 400, so nearly half done.

after weeding i finally pulled up monster.com to find a job or see what is out there. i found two dream positions. one being marketing which is not to shabby. another was great, promotional cordinator for a chicago radio station (it said entry level). so ontop of both of these prospects i am also going to send out a resume to air wisconsin, thanks luke for telling me about it. ontop of all this tomorrow i am going to search through radiojobs.com, tvjobs.com, check the airlines, sporting clubs and political campaigns. i figure my degrees open a lot of doors. i just have to get off my ass and go threw them.

also getting a note from katie tully is always a great day. it actually made my day today. hey katie i must tell ya i wanted to call you a bunch this summer and ramble about all that has happened. i hopr you are having a blast and i can't wait to see ya when you get back from chile! i will e-mail ya so we can keep in touch.

on a funny note what is going on in california? the govenership of cali is up for grabs due to a recall election. who is running? garry coleman (actor of different strokes), the terminator (actor and former body builder), ann feinstien (politican reporter), larry flynn (creator of hustler), throw in a few porn stars, and 319 other people. i can only say only in california and only in the usa!

another funny side note if anyone has ever watched the movie bring it on they made a sequal. i know what were they thinking and i didn't see a trailer for that. well it never made it to the big screen, it went straight to video. the title of it is bring it on again. it takes place in a whole new school and is probably twice as bad as its original. who am i though to say don't make another cheerleading film.

so far the job search has been slow to nonexsistant. i have been looking up jobs and reworking my resume to fit certain positions. now all i have to do is find what i am looking for and send the resumes out.

on the brighter side of life without a job i have time to sleep late and try to get over jetlag. last time it took around a week to a week and a half. i figure one night i am just going to stay in and get an early start to sleep.

other than sleeping i have been pretty busy the last few nights. sunday i hung out with mitch at his place and watched the bourne identity. monday night i went up to the sox game at "the cell" as people are calling it here. it was amazing to see an almost sold out game. i have never witnessed so many people inside that stadium. attendance was around 43,000 last night, then again it was half price night against the #1 royals. the problem with half price night is that all the trash comes in for 6 bucks. my dad and bill keene witnessed some pot smoking in the nose bleeds. tommy and i saw a bunch of kids getting tossed for underage drinking and fighting. i can see why "the cell" had so many problems with the crowd the last few seasons. i bet it all took place on half price night.

tonight tom, kaite, mkb and i made the big trip downtown to check out the free movie in grant park. this was a great idea by mkb! since i was dirt poor it was great to go see a free movie. it only cost me $2.50 for the parking. the movie was pretty decent, in the heat of the night. it sounded like they fixed the sound system there since the last time i saw a film there a couple years ago. thank god for a cheap night. i need to exchange the rest of my 25 dollars australian. it should be around 10 dollars u.s. after fees.

CONGRATULATIONS to my cousin meg and her soon to be husband patrick!! i heard that the info from my mom today and freaked out a little. i don't know anyone my age that is getting married yet. i guess it is a major sign that we are all slowly growing older. i am getting to many of those signs lately. from jeff and me talking about our debt to danny jill and i talking about resumes and jobs.

lately i have been chipping away at harry potter and slowly working to the half way mark. i don't know how much i like this one yet, hopefully some stuff happens in the second half of the book. other than that my job searching begins tomorrow with me fixing up my resume. what fun, huh.
