there is no more curiosity in this years draft. it is always fun to wonder who will the first pick of the nfl draft be. this year and last year the texans and the bengals jumped the gun and signed thier picks before the draft.
david carr and carson palmer signed contracts before being officially announced at the draft as the #1 pick. if the bears sign brad banks in the late rounds, i will buy season tickets.
last night i saw the greatest film ever made by man, drumline. i know many of you make think i have lost my mind, but i have not. this movie is a tale of lies, love, and happiness. nick cannon was actually a good actor. i am a big fan of the halftime shows at the heritage bowl. i must admit i am a fan of grambling university, sorry all of you supporters of southern university. grambling has the best band in the land. so go see drumline don't hate it if you have not yet watched it.
today was the last day of my acting in tv production. i played a anchor on a television show similar to the daily show. samantha and i gave our best performance. i was just happy i did not stumble on to many of my lines this time.

i find it interesting in the days of the cell phone that people have such personal phone calls in public. while i am typing this log a guy is arguing with his mom about his summer plans. i have to ask why the hell he feels that everyone in the computer lab should know that his mom does not approve of his plans.
this morning i had to carry the news/sports cast all alone. the news guy just decided to not show up this morning. it was the fastest news cast in krui history.
i lost a huge bet last night to samantha. i picked carmen to escape being voted off this week, because of her cuteness. turns out that america did not find her all that cute after her horrible singing performance. it seems there is a trend that people who improve and give their best performances get the boot the following week. so to sam i must say congrats.

tilly mentioned to me yesterday in class that we only have 3 weeks of college left. i thought she was joking, but it turns out she was not. i do only have 3 more weeks of college left. we both agreed that it will be nice not to have to work on any more papers and tests. it will also be nice to be done with quest for human destiny.
last weekend was nice. i got to see some relatives that came out for easter. baby gavin is growing like a weed. mass was only an hour and a half, which was not to long. the priest made a funny comment about c and e catholics (those who only show up for christmas and easter). i was a little ashamed that i was only an e catholic this year. i have to work on getting motivated to head back to church.
the spring game i was excited about was a weather disaster. it is never good when the p.a. announcer makes a warning and then 5 minutes later says we are evacuating the stadium. i got rained on for at least 20 minutes.
i think the people at nbc should start editing their reruns before airing them. last week on a rerun episode of conan o' brien, he cracked a joke about the space shuttle columbia. nbc never edited out the joke that toke place before the crash. i think it would have been a good idea to take it out. also i heard they had a snl rerun with dixie chicks on the air. although not as controversial, what a great way to hurt ratings. airing one of the most hated musical groups in america right now is never a way to attract viewer.

it was about time that the university of iowa football team got some recognition. it was a pretty crazy atmosphere at kinnick for the espn gameday shoot. we were able to meet lee corso when we walked through the gates. he was nice enough to take a picture with my friend mike. it was pretty interesting to see how a professional tv crew works, not much unlike my tv production class. later in the night i found out that brad, mike, and i were on local tv coverage. we were in a shot with all the fans, but you could pick us out of the crowd.
after the tapping i had to run to the krui studios to do the sports show. the show was by far one of the funniest i have been on. some how we started talking about having a krui sports staff auction to raise money for krui sports. we thought it was a funny idea, and so did the listeners outside the studio (we are broadcast through some areas of the student union). other than that i took on the issue of the white trash that ran onto the field at u.s. cellular field.
today i wrapped up on my movie "the lynch identity". i have shown it to a few of my roommates and two classmates. so far everyone has laughed, i think i did a good job on it.

michael jordan is now finally down with basketball. i remember watching him play when i was 10, he was the greatest. it is sad that he was never able to bring the wizards to the playoff. i think it would have shown the world that he was still capable of making miracles happen. so to michael i say, thank you for the memories and the championships.
today espn's college gameday is coming to the legendary kinnick stadium to do a taping. it should be a lot of fun if it does not rain. i hopefully will be one of the first ones there a group of us from tv production are heading up there. watch espn this week and you might just catch a glimpse of me on tv.
i talked to sean last night. now that he is 13 he can no longer play in the little league, he is now a pony leaguer. gone are the days with the yankees and here are the days of the phillies. the season starts sometime this weekend. sean have a great season, i will sneak down there for a couple games while i am still out here in iowa. for all of my readers i will be posting the phillies scores and updates, so keep a look out.

yesterday, i dusted off the old tennis racquet for a match against a former br. rice teammate. i was happy to see that i was able to win the first two games of a three game match. it was also nice to see that i can still get my first serve in every once and a while.
u.s. cellular field can no be nicknamed that cell. why, because white sox fans love running on the field and landing their asses in jail. last night it seems a few fans found it necessary to run onto the field, i have no problem with that. i due have a problem with fans attacking players and umpires. it seems last night their was a repeat of the attack that took place last year. i just hope that the white trash attacker last night does not live in any suburb or part of the city near where i live. oh ya, billy koch blew another save opportunity at last nights game. we need a closer, trade koch!

this weekend i spent some time at music recitals in attempt to erase my current f in recital attendance. right now i have 6 more concerts to get to to meet the required 9 to pass. last weekend i saw an organ concert, very interesting. it reminded me of being at saint john fisher and their 2 hour masses.
i also spent a little time with the roommates at the 14th annual ui pow wow. it was a native american gathering with food, shopping, and traditional native american dancing.
i also went to cousin chuck's for my first bbq of the year. i love bbq. nothing is more spring than burgers and hy-vee macaroni salad.
this week should be a blast. espn's show college gameday is coming to iowa city this thursday to do a little thing on our spring practices. then this saturday is the big spring game. then easter sunday relatives are coming out to iowa city for mass and brunch. i love easter.
since the war has started there has been a peace camp of anti-war protestors camping on the pentacrest. today was an interesting turn of events. a pro-war camp opened up just east of the anti-war kids. this should make for an interesting end of the semester. i also heard that playboy is visiting iowa city to pick gals for their upcoming girls of the big ten issue. i am curious to see if anyone camps to protest that.

finally iowa is getting some nice warm spring weather, i think it hit 70 today. so a lot has been happening since i last wrote.
my directorial debut was a success. last wednesday i directed the american idol skit for my tv production class. the skit was a riot and the actors were hysterical. i think we did american idol proud. speaking of american idol, why the hell was ricky kicked off? clay looks like a creep with a wig and kimberly caldwell is a horrible singer! oh ya, i do watch american idol when i have the chance.
other than that i am ecstatic that harry potter and the chamber of secrets comes out on dvd tomorrow. that harry potter is one great kid.
congratulations to the coalition forces on their present success in baghdad. it was great to see the statues of saddam hussein fall around iraq. i think it has been 12 years overdue. bush senior should have done this a while ago.

today i awoke from my bed, rushed to my window after hearing what the weatherman said. a winter storm after so many nice days, i thought he was crazy, until i opened my blinds amazed. there on the ground lied four to six inches, i said to myself son of a bitch. i thought it was over with and eighty degrees was among us. instead i got snow to walk in on my way to classes.
that was a little poem i came up with just now. i think it accurately captures my thoughts and feelings this morning.
in more interesting news, finally jerry krause has resigned as general manager of the chicago bulls. he citied health reasons. i cite the reason that he broke ties with jordan, pippen, jackson, and rodman for chandler, curray, williams, and for a period of time tim floyd. this is a sign that ship was heading down and the man who brought us back to the original roots of the bulls, the cellar. so i bid a farewell to him, you brought us six championships and for that i love ya. you also brought us a bunch of young talent that has yet to bring us back to the playoffs, for that i am not your biggest fan.

today i had an old face stop by the krui studio, the one and only bryce fishman. we used to do a show together last year from 1am to 3am on thursday mornings. it was great to see what has been doing the last couple of months. so thanks bryce, mark, tim, and autumn for stopping by today.
while i was getting ready to start my set today i found a chicago tribune from april 1st. the headline was that mayor daley closed down meigs field without consulting the city. i guess a few of his close personal colleagues were in on the decision. the 50 city alderman, department of homeland security and some other major players were never notified. demolition began sunday night seems kind of shady to me. the friends of meigs are fighting to get it reopened while the mayor wants the site to become a park. daley has wanted the site to be a park since he first attempted a similar stunt in 1997. daley, demolished parts of the runway because of a possible terrorist attack on the city. here is a statement issued by mayor daley".
i wouldn't mind a park being there either, it is a nice site. plus never in my life would i have used meigs field while it was open. the demolition is no skin of my back.
congrats, sammy sosa who hit is 500th homer last night in cincinnati.

after 2 days of rehearsing lines for my acting debut at tv production, it is finally over. this morning i played a character named mac that attempts to pic up a girl named ibm at a bar. this is horrible outside of my normal everyday character, but i agreed to act in it anyway. it went great except for my occasional blanking on a few lines. i also got to make an ass out of myself further by dancing. i am not the worlds worst dancer. heck at girl that i meet down at u of i two years ago said that i had rhythm. the only problem with dancing on tv production is 1)you are being recorded and 2)you are dancing to no music (the music is not played in studio because it will drawn out the actors while creating feedback). i was happy that everyone got a good laugh, it was my goal. if you live in the iowa city area be ready to watch public access, because all of our projects are going to air there after the semester. i will get it on tape if anyone wants to see it. if i was asked to act again, i would probably decline.
yesterday, i received my first ever failure notice at the university of iowa. the class is called recital attendance. it is pass/fail and if i go to 9 performances i pass. so far i have been to zero. this weekend though there are 5 performances. that means i am going to be hearing a lot of music this weekend.
last night katie (roomie) and i headed to sluggers to get some food. it was great since they had live blues music. the band played some great tunes, especially the wheels on the bus. the drummer dedicated it to the two little girls that were dancing in the aisles.
isn't it amazing that the cubs are 2-1 and the white sox are 0-3, tied for dead last in the al central. go chicago, and come on sox if i am ever going to see an all chicago world series you need to start winning. today is opening day at u.s. sell your sould field, good luck sox, and i do like the renovations.

i have been working on a movie lately about how many times my name has been messed up over time. it is really funny, from being left out of year books to blockbuster making a mistake on my rental card. it should be completed by next week. to hype the short 4 minute film i am putting up the pics of a young me. check them out, you might be in a couple.

last night i went with jen and rachel to see the movie chicago. what a great flick! it made me wonder if criminals today only commit crimes to get in the media spot light. just look at the new phenomena of running over your cheating husband with a car. it has garnered major publicity by the media. the movie chicago was right, the court system is only a three ring circus and your there to give them a show. just look at the o.j. case, i bet many people could still name the judge and lawyers involved.
yesterday, i went to wal-mart for groceries. this is the first time i have ever been to a super wal-mart center. after hearing from tim and natalie that it is cheaper there than hy-vee i decided to make the trip. its amazing how big wal-marts are! i found it fascinating that they have there own in store wal-mart tv channel. i was able to get some good deals, but i missed my friendly smile at every aisle. i could never turn my back on the best chinese place in iowa city.
laura, i can't comment on your site anymore since it is disabled. so, when are you going to e-mail me or post those pictures from mother mccauley's sophomore dance?
check out the march archive. happy april fools day.
