| #10: The Boy Who Could Not Lie Devin Acare IOTC Vet. (6/18/04 6:43 pm) Reply Moonlit Appologies: None so Accepted. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday night, what beautiful words. What a wonderful thought. The whole concept, so close to perfection. Saturday was spent sleeping all day, and then living in the light of the vampire. Devin was on the grounds, just wandering. Figureing she'd probably run into Dalton, usually did on Saturdays. She rather wished the weather were better. On the one day she wasn't tired to enjoy it, the sky was clouded, Luna barely visable. She didn't mind the rain... but it wasn't even raining, no thunder or lightening, just clouds. Harmless blocking clouds. A cool fresh breeze passed, and gave her goose bumps. Black jean flares and a red halter top, perhaps not the best outfit for cool air. In the middle of summer, she wondered where cool air even came from. "Dev?" His deep calm voice broke her thoughtful silence. She whipped around, thinking she'd see Dalton, but knowing the voice was off for such. It was Ash. "The other day in the Great hall. I am not aware or how much Vanlerie informed you of, but I am very regretful... I ... I have been short of mind and temper lately... I... there is no excuse. I appologize." Devin looked up at the tall boy, and her green eyes glittered. "Sure, you appologize, but with little less than the absence of sincerity." Devin replied cooly. "I assure you I am quite..." Ash stopped, staring into her eyes he could not act, he sighed. Not knowing what power she had to make him like this, but hating it. "See?" Devin confirmed, nearly monotone. "It was wrong." "Perhaps, but what the hell? Who cares. You're Mertis, I'm Acare. That explains it, right?" she bit. "It was not like that. It is not like that now..." Ash pushed. "Look, Mertis. I'm tired of listening to this garbage. I've never seen you like this. So angry, so out of focus. I'm begin to understand our families more." "I have a lot of work, and little time. Perhaps I am stressed. Everyone is entitled to be frustrated," Ash added in a whisper "Oh, what the hell would you know?" Devin's eyes shot down, and she gave his arm a stiff push, making him look down into her eyes. "What? You stupid blood sod!" she hissed. "Frustrated? Frustrated? You don't know what frustrated IS!" "If I do not translate..." "If you don't translate! If you don't translate! That is the only thing thus far that has been put of your shoulders! And you complain!" Devin said in anger "The ONLY thing? It is my LIFE!" Ash snapped. "What the hell do you call leaving a six year old on her own? FIGHTING FOR CRAYONS?! Look, Mertis, Somethings you'd rather die than loose. Think about them, maybe you should worry about saving them, rather than feeding your ego." Ash gave a little laugh. "Yeah, yeah. That is what you believe in, before you realize you could die in three days, it really changes perspective." "Does it?" devin replied, face unreadable, eyes gleaming. "God, I am sorry Devin. You are right. You always are, I am just--just... oh I do not know what the hell I am" "Tired and uptight." "What?" "You're tired and uptight. Contractions are like a sin you know." "I never said they were." "You 'didn't' say they were." devin said raising her eye brows. "No I did not... didn't" Devin gave little laugh and so did Ash. "Tell me something, Acare, could you?" Devin nodded. "How do you do it?" "What?" "I can not lie to you." ash replied "I can not even act as if I have had a good day... it it is rediculous." Devin nodded. "Well, you know what? I wouldn't want you to think you were babysitting me or anything, so I'm gonna dash. Maybe you're just impared. Ta" With that Devin flew away and Ash was left there not knowing what to think ************************************************************************************************************************** I like this post and hate it all at once, in honesty. This is the first time I sort of put into words a minor charector chemistry that had been going on for a long time. Ash always offered fortune cookie like responces, he was the "hero" and always knew what to say, all the same sometime you don't fully believe what you know is true. You may know that we will eventually learn to live with change, but it's hard to see at first. Anyhow, Devin is the only person who has ever caught his bluff everytime, and sometimes he's inclined to have a short temper with her for this reason. Ash isn't angery, or mean, never is, but it is to be shown that he IS human. He DOES have acually emotion, he's just the "bigger man" and doesn't show it. Devin has a tendency to call his bluff, and know the answers he wish he had. He is glad to have help, but, though he fights saying it, he resists taking it from an Acare. Devin mentioned babysitting, something Ash had said in the great hall. However, Devin did not hear him say it, or have it directly mentioned to her, she had another way of picking up the knowlege which isn't often mentioned. Notice all "glints" in her commanding green eyes. *************************************************************************************************************************** #9: What They'd Never Forget Jen Unregistered User (6/20/04 11:50 am) Reply ... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aida waved until they were just a speck in the sky. The little girl sighed heavily, and shut the balcony doors with a quiet click. She cleaned the room until it was as if no one was ever there. she locked the doors behind ehr as she left, no one would be entering the room for awhile, she assumed. Aida's thoughts wandered as she traveled down the staircase to the kitchen, realizing that everything would be different. Jen has entered on a whim, and left even faster. Her tiny head pounded with sympathies, and she wondered what Ryder thought. He was a good man, really he was. He was quiet about parts in his life, but who wouldn't be? A Death Eater couldn't be discussed as if normal conversation, and the pain of losing a wife was undescribable. But losing a daughter, that was different, though not spoken of nonetheless. It was almost as if he forgot about that part of his life, as if wishing to forget it actually made it disappear. But he let her get away, for a second time. It was good though, he knew she would be okay. He'd have his second chance with her, he knew it. Voldemort, on the other hand, he was a different story. ryder would need to steer clear of him if he wanted to keep his head. When Voldemort finds out that Marrs Acare has yet to be killed, he will not be happy. Ryder knew he was in danger. That whole household was turned upsidedown, and all because of Jen and the prescence she brought. She was only supposed to be bait! Oh, how confusing things get in only a matter of days. At least she was safe, and back in her own little world. She probably wouldn't even remember it, remember her time with them. But Ryder, Aida, and the rest of the people she encountered.. They would never forget. ************************************************************************************************************************** Not a post I wrote, but a post I liked very much anyhow. I found this one well written. I think; it showed more to Ryder, in many ways. It also had a little bit of Aida's voice in it, and I was rather thrilled with the inocent little maid as a character in the first place. It's always nice to read the final post of a plot to get the full closure of how it all ends. Anyhow, well written, lots of voice. ************************************************************************************************************************** #8 : I Was There Devin Acare (5/29/04 3:32 pm) Reply Marrs Acare -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marrs knew she wasn't concious anylonger, but her still held her hand softly, perhaps he was conforting himself rather than her. He shook with anger, his jaw clenched, and he spun to look at Ryder. "You don't know the first God damn thing about your daughter, you stupid sod! Ya don't know what she 'ad to go through! Ya didn't pray every night, to God all mighty, that wether or not he would save your sorry ass he would give her her own voice back! You didn't hear just how beautiful her first words upon its returning were! Furthermore, you sick fool, you arrogant, egotistick bloody moron, you didn't see how much she longed for 'er father. How she hated herself for what she hadn't done, because he left her, how much she wanted him to accept her. So don't you even start with the 'your daughter' crap. In order to call her that, you might as well have at least tried to be a father!" Marrs raged in fury. "I spent my days talking to her, listening to her. My nights thinking of 'er, praying for her. Hoping her the best. Praying one day she'd find 'er father just because its what she dreamed. I regret that more than anythin'. Look at you! You'd 'ave let her die today. An angel! Perfection in purity! Your own flesh and blood, and you'd 'ave given her a daggar to take her own life!" Marrs have probably never said that much in his entire life, but he meant every word. "You sick bastard. Don't you even act as if you care for her. Not after what you've done to her." Vanlerie's eyes widened, as he spoke she whispered into Aida's ear. "I'm very sorry, I"ll let you go,I promise, but please keep quiet, and hold still" ************************************************************************************************************************** A very emoting post! Marrs speaks, REALLY speaks, more than three sentences! All to say what Jen is worth, and what she should mean to her own father. After this speach Ryder fumes himself to Marrs, but neither's heart could possibly be changed from their thoughts. Though, here it is clear Marrs' devotion and dedication to his friend will last, possibly forever on. ************************************************************************************************************************** #7: Uncovering Motives Mona Saturns Unregistered User (4/15/04 6:27 pm) Reply Mona's Mother: A Production On Her Own -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After pleading with the nurse for what seemed like hours, and promising never to eat another strawberry for as long as she lived, Mona was set free from the Hospital Wing. She felt relieved, no longer was the Nurse constantly on her to take medication after medication, and for her to rest. Rest?! Who needed rest? Mona had been in the worst of moods the whole time. So now, Mona was eating a peaceful lunch in the Great Hall, or so she thought. Entering through the huge double doors was a tall, slim woman, who looked not a day over twenty. Soft blond locks danced at the woman's shoulders as she walked, rather calmly, into the Hall. Her blue eyes glinted flirtatiously at the young boys, who all drooled happily. Mona, however, did not turn around. She seemed deeply engrossed with her lunch. "Desdemona Saturns!" called the woman from behind. Mona cringed, it couldn't be... But it was. A quick glance over her shoulder revealed the motherly face that she was almost able to forget. "Mother!" she replied with a smile, trying her hardest not to turn and run. Far away. "You worried me sick young lady! How could you put me through so much stress?! An allergic reaction, Desdemona you know better!" Mona lowered her eyes, her mother still progressing forward. At that moment, all Mona wanted to do is scream, 'Can't you just send a howler liek all the normal parents?!' But no, she couldn't. "I-I know Mother," Mona sunk in her seat, "I'm so sorry to disgrace you." "Well," Mona's mother replied breathlessly, "It's a little late for that." Mona gazed at her mother, and with all her stunning beauty, Mona still saw wickedness. "Well!" Mona's mother was tapping her foot talking to the awe-struck girl sitting next to her. "Ahem! Get up!" The girl obeyed, Mona's mother sat down. Her mother glanced around, "Gosh I never thought I'd be back in this dump." "Yes well, funny thing life is." Mona replied, shovelig the last bit of food in her mouth. Her mother looked on with disgust. "So, why are you here?" Mona asked her mother. "I got a call from that Headmaster of yours, saying my daughter had eaten strawberries and had a terrible reaction. He asked if I wanted to come down and see you, because it would be fine, and so I had no choice. Was I supposed to tell him no thanks? Ha. Desdemona, drink your juice." Mona nodded with a sigh, and only glanced at her pumpkin juice before looking back at her mother. She was glancing in a compact mirror, not even noticing or caring if her daughter got the proper amounts of juice in a day. "And besides..." she was continuing, "I thought it was about time you said hello. After all, I haven't seen you since Christmas." "Yes, well, I've been busy with schoolwork." Mona's mother shut her compact, and stared at her daughter with raised brows. "What?" Mona asked in defense, "Don't you believe me Mother?" Mona's mother glanced her up and down, her brows fixed. "My God, you look absolutely pregnant! What have they been feeding you?!" "Huh? What are you talking about?" Mona's robes were being tugged on, "Desdemona dear you haven't been doing anything to disgrace the family have you? After all, I think you've done enough already!" Mona's robes were let back into place. "What? You think I'm pregnant?! Never!" "Yes well, never is such a long time you know. Soon you'll be married and have children of your own. When do you finish this wretched school? This year?" "Next." "Next? Oh, well then I should get started working on a match for you. It'll be hard you know, with your hair gone and your sour personality.." "I don't need a match Mother." "Of course you do dear, don't be foolish." Mona sighed, "Yes Mother," she droned. "Now, what was that boy's name.." "Who?" "Trojan.. Trunan.." she waved her hand as though shooing a fly. "Tynan?! No Mother, I won't marry him." "Yes, yes you will. He's a fine boy dear." The conversation continued this way, with Mona's mother voicing her opinions, and hearing less of Mona's. Mona only wished someone would save her. ************************************************************************************************************************* (Starting post in the Great hall) Miss Mona's mother was quite a shock indeed! To summerize the following, A girl began to talk to Mrs. Saturns, but she was not all that helpful in "saving Mona" from acusations or ridicule. (Mona had eaten strawberries, which she is allergic to. Had become ill, close to suffication the night before and Dalton had rushed her to the hospital wing, to explain the mention of the hospital wing.) So Dalton Hostrock, looking perfect as always, had entered the great hall, in not perhaps the best of cercumstances and Sat Next to Mona saying "Good morning Sunshine." and proclaiming that he hoped she felt better: ************************************************************************************************************************** Mona Saturns Unregistered User (4/18/04 12:04 pm) Reply ... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mona looked horrified at the sight of him, and she quickly glanced at her mother. Talking to that girl, for the moment at least. She leaned closer to Dalton, "No, Hostrock. Not now," she hissed, knowing what was to come. "Well, well, and who might this be?" Mona's mother asked, her eyes bright, brows slightly raised. Mona cringed. "I-uh, don't know. Come to think of it, I've never seen him before in my life." "Don't be foolish Desdemona," she replied, her vocie cool. She looked Dalton up and down, "Is he the boy that got you pregnant?" "No!" Mona jumped slightly. "No, Mother, and I'm not pregnant." Her Mother clicked her tongue, "Well he can't be a friend. You've never had friends who've looked like this." she concluded, though left her last thought sounding like a compliment to Dalton. "Cashlin Saturns," she added with her flirtatious smile, sitting down delicately. "And who are you?" Darious Hostrock Registered User (4/18/04 1:43 pm) Reply ... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darious gave a slight nervous laugh totally shocked by the coments. "Darious Hostrock." He said offereing a hand to shake. "However, everyone calls me Dalton. Plesant to make your aquaintance." Darious cleared his throat. "I assure you M'am I didn't... impregnate your...kin." Dalton wasn't totally sure what the relation between the two was just yet but Saturns was all her needed. "I do concider M-Desdemona a friend, Miss Saturns, though I doubt she gives me the same title." Darious looked to Mona, wondering if what he said would be fitting. Wondering why this woman thought Mona was pregnant. The whole situation was... kindly odd, then again, what wasn't at hogwarts? ************************************************************************************************************************** It was here that Dalton Hostrock got his second look at exactly what made Mona act the way she did to people. The following was a long conversation about niether's family truely "loveing" them all that much. The circumstances in that way may have been similar, however, each took it very differently. Darious, as a rebellious teen, said his life was meant to live his way. Mona strived for acceptance. Each's ideas seemed amazing to the other. ************************************************************************************************************************** #6: The Pain of A Thornless Rose Devin Acare Registered User (11/28/03 9:14 pm) Reply ... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ((OOC: What the heck? Ezboard is refusing ezcodes? Oh well, I'll try to remember it all)) Devin angrily stomped up to the girl. Intent on giving her a good talk on humility... then she realized she couldnt' talk. But she was blazing mad... so she pulled her hand back and hit Mona causing her jaw to make a clicking sound. She walked to her bed and dipped her hand in the green potion. Devin moved her finger righting the letters in the air before Mona. -Learn respect girl, and shut your trap- The rest of the words clicked in her head. Her eyes widened and she ran to the window flinging it open. Being a vampire... and close to hte thin window she was sure Darious had heard. -She speaks of Amadeos, does she not?- Devin wrote in hte air her eyes blazing mad. Darious was wide eyed for a moment... he hadn't wanted to mention it... but Mona had made that imposible. He sighed, knowing he must now explain. "It is" he said simply. -Why didn't you mention it?- Devin wrote and slamed her hands down on the window sill. "I didn't want to upset you, love. However, Miss Saturns does seem to mind. If I didn't like her so much I assure you I have some words that word upset her pretty bad." Darious sighed brushing his hair out of his eyes. -You saw Amadeos Flight? And you think you should just NOT MENTION IT! He's after me, Hostrock, I think I'd like to know when he's about!- the letters gleamed with the fierceness of her eyes. "Why? So you can sit up all night with a sword, paraniod of every squeak in the floor boards? You'd do that anyway with him about, so why? Why did you need to know, huh? So you could be upset?" Darious said angrily, but he made sure to stay quiet enough not to wake the others. -What did he say- "I dunno." Darious shrugged "I think his plan is to take things from you, until you give in... but I don't think he'll take your life, frankly... I think that would be too easy." Darious said with a sigh. -I have nothing... he has my voice... what more?- Dairous shrugged. "I-I dunno. Is there anything you care about? ... Or... maybe... anyone?" -no, nothing and no one of your concern- "What ever, just... take care of your self all right? I'll be in my dorm, it's down the hall if you need me" -I wont- "Well if you do..." -I won't- "Look Dev, I know you don't want to except any help from me... or anyone, but please. Just... don't get your self hurt ok? Wether or not YOU admit to careing for anyone, there are allot of people who care about you." -I doubt it- "Look, G'night. The both of you take care of your selves, and I'll see you in the morning." He held out a red rose. -I don't want it- "It's not for you" Darious said simply and flew off. Devin stood mouth open slightly, she picked up the rose. Not for me? she thought in surprise. She closed the window and walked over to Mona. She threw the rose at her feet and snatched Darious' cloak from her. Devin looked at the golden clasp bearing the Hostrock emblem. She sighed and threw the cloak into her trunk and closed it. Devin then locked her trunk, cloak inside. She sat on her bed and by the light of a candle began to read a magazine, looking up every few minutes to make sure mona was still there. ************************************************************************************************************************** This post lead back to everyone's favorite question reguarding pairings, "Does Devin REALLY like Darious?" The Answer: Maybe, Maybe not. Perhaps being ignored by Darious, for once, broke her little heart, but more likely, The fact that he would express such a favor to MONA after what she had just done gratted on her. I tried to potray her pouting. I imagined her eyes to be absolutely huge when Darious said that the rose was not ment for her. Darious' coment leads us to yet another question: "Does Darious REALLY like Devin?" Dalton spends most of the post talking about careing for Devin, and wanting nothign but her protection, and yet at the end it's as if he slams a cold door in her face. So, is Darious playing some kind of game to bring Devin out of her shell? Did he mean nothing by it, as roses are his traditional favor? Or Does our heart-throb find something of intrest in out own Miss Mona Saturns? These questions are yet to be answered SO KEEP READING! (sound like a book/movie advertisment don't I? lol) ************************************************************************************************************************** #5: Meeting A Brother Ash MertisMarrs Unregistered User (11/16/03 6:56 pm) Reply ... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Hold still!" Devin barked as she tried to straighten Marrs' collar in the hall toward the dance. (he's wearing the standered black and white tux) "This is rediculous, it doesn't matter." he moaned. "Yes it does! You meat head! Now hold still!" she said pulling back nearly choking him, until he stopped. She fixed his collar, and jacket. Then, standing on her tip-toes, made his hair look neat (but still cover the scar). "Can I go now?" "No." She brushed wrinkles from his shirt and tugged it until his whole outfit look perfect. "Do I have to wear a tie?" "No, you meat head. This isnt' a wedding. What color is she wearing?" "Who?" "Jen, you moron" "Oh, uh... I havn't got a bloody clue." "You didn't ask! You idiot!" She groaned "Ummm.... this'll have to due." Devin handed him a crosage with a dark red rose and small greenery. "I ain't wearin' 'dat. I'm no friggin' fruit bat." he said clenching his jaw. Devin's eyes closed tightly as if in pain. "It's for you to give to Jen you idiotic slime." "Oh." "Uhhh... there is no hope for you. Good luck, You'll need it" Devin turned and began to walk back to the common room. "Hey! Dev" Marrs called, and she turned. "Thankx." Devin's scowl softened and she gave a slight smile then turned. "Dev?" he said agian, and she turned "Aren't ya commin?" "No need, no one expects me there. Or wants me there. Or hopes me there." she said shrugging. "Who cares what any of 'em want." "What do you mean?" "Ya wanna come. So, jus' come." "No." she began to turn. "Wha' was it you said?" he whispered then she looked up as she walked away. "Your beauty will never be defined By those who disrespect your mind; Don't let society sway you to hide The sparkling personality held inside Refuse to be confined to the drab cell Created by tart remarks of your outer shell " he said quoteing a poem she once loved. Devin spun and stared at Marrs her mouth hanging open. She didn't even think he was capable of stringing a paragraph together sometimes. Now SHE could not speak. "Yeh well. Jus' com" he said and turned walking quickly she saw him disapear through the doors to the dance. Devin walked off toward her dorm, to change. Marrs waked in the door and saw Jen imeadiatly "Hey" he said softly and held the carsage out to her. ************************************************************************************************************************** First off I need to say that I cut off half of this post, because I didn't need to talk about Dalton and Ash in this, and I made a few spelling corrections. I like this post because you see that Marrs isn't the total idiot everyone thinks him. We were once told, last dance, that Devin use to recite poetry from school. Marrs claimed to hate it, but later confessed, only to himself that it helped him sleep. Now, for the first time he shows some hint of knowledge, of her, and of the world beyond the battle feild. More than anything, for the first time, he looks like a brother. Devin was aghast at this, but as not to jinx the luck listened to her old words and came to the ball. ************************************************************************************************************************** #4: Saving A Heroine Devin Acare Registered User (12/21/03 7:50 pm) Reply Looking for Solutions -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Devin stood before the lake. The moon gleamed off it, no one was around... or at least she didn't hear them if they were. Devin saw herself standing below her, preserved in the water. "I am the cause of this. I am the cause. Not the perpetrator... but the cause" she thought, painfully aware of her inabilty to speak. Sighing she picked up a rock and pitched it at the water, shatering her picture. Devin then fell to her knees on the dock. She stared at her reflection, hating it. "She wont do it, unless I help her. She's too set on me... for some reason. If..if it became the case that I could not help... could NEVER help, then she would stop. Until she was regrouped and re-planed.. that could take up to five years knowing her. By then Ash would be far from her... but how? How could I prove that I could NEVER do it? I can do it. I know all I need. Of the girl's anerexia, of Vanleries tendency to visit lower levels of the castle, where no one is around...What if I can't save them? I don't think I'm strong enough to do this. My voice I am without, Spark seems to have been misplaced, he may take a wizard at anytime... I have nothing. No strenght, no plan, no solution, no...no NOTHING!" More than anything after the river of thought she wished to scream. To open her mouth, close her eyes and scream. Maybe for hours, just to do SOMETHING to ease the toll it took on her mind. "I can not alow my weakness to kill Little Mertis, or that wizard. They are worth far more to many more people than I" Breathing deeply, Devin closed her eyes. She took Amora's daggar from her cloak with her left hand, and her sword appeared in her right. "Lord, there may be no excuse, but please forgive me. More than that, save them, save them from that Devil. Oh God... just save them." She focused on the thought as hard as she could. She proceeded to think serveral traditional prayers. Then slowly, she pulled the swords blade to her throat, the dagar to her chest, before her heart. She faught the tears she wanted to cry so badly. "I am so sorry. To all of them... to me... I'm just so damn sorry" she thought, and then her eyes shot open, she set the blades down for a second "I' am sorry to you above the rest mama." she thought clutching her necklace. "I'm failing you in this act, as I take with me all the Acares have to date, and I am leaving only Marrs who can not fend for himself but in battle. I am sorry, and ashamed, but there is no other way in my sights. I know to do this for any Mertis... well it's against us, but Mama? You woudl understand, I know you would and do. I am so sorry Mama, I love you Mama, and suicide garentees I will never take a place in God's home... so Good bye Mama..." Devin began to sob, as she took off the necklace and set if before her. She straighten her face, tring to swallow the pain and picked up the blade, re placing them. She began to inhale, as she exhaled she would both slice off her head and push the blade through her heart. Then, in the one moment before death, she force herself to jump into the lake. She woudl sink to the bottom after floating for a moment, and by sunrise... she woudl be gone to them all. only her necklace woudl stay, here on the dock. Pictures and thoughts of people poured through her head as she breathed in. Each one, she was positive, she loved in some way or another.. and she would leave them all. She worried most for Jason... poor sweet Jace... he woudl take her absence the worst, undoubtably. "WAIT! WHAT THE BLOODY HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!?" called a voice. Devin began her blades motion, she didn't want to be seen, but she didn't want to be stopped either. "No!" A rapier stopped the blade that would slice her throat. The dagger however had easily slipped into her chest and into her heart. Her eyes grew huge, in pain and she fell backward. Devin would not die unless her head was cut off, she was too strong, unless she was allowed to bleed out. She lifted her sword again, her body shaking from the exertion and she tried to drop it on her throat, to end the pain. The rapier blocked, and she knocked it away. Again she lifted the blade and dropped it above her throat... it would all end soon.. it woudl all end. It made contact with the ghostly pale skin. "AGH!" Dalton wailed, having thrown his own arm in front of the girls throat. In anger, defeat, and some dispair Deivn sobbed, lifting and drop the blade (though she coudl not lift it high as she lost blood) trying to cut through the intruders arm. "For the sake of all thats holy, STOP!" Darious grabed the blade and pitched it to the side. He looked from his arm, which was savagely cut to the bone, to Devin, lieing on her back stareing at the sky coughing blood and trying not to cry. "Ok, it's all right." Darious sighed, he grimaced as his arm began to heal. "Just calm down love, its all over. You're gonna be just fine." Darious fell back too, so he too was stareing at the sky. Tring to regulate his breathing he softly stroaked her hair as she cried, she smacked his hands away, but after a few minutes she just sat and stared at the stars. "I know you are wondering why, love, but thats not the answer. It never is. Besides, what self respecting Acare takes the easy way out?" Devin sighed. She thought: "Do I look like I respect my self?" "Aw, don't worry about it puppet. Just breath. We'll get this all worked out." "We?" she thought angrily "I, is more like it. What could you possibly do about it?And will he ever stop straoking my head? Jeez thats annoying...This was so stupid." "You might as well admit it to yourself, love, you're glad I stopped you." Devin turned her head to look at him, and she saw his bright face smiling back at her. She rolled her eyes and looked back at the sky. ************************************************************************************************************************* For those of you who read these, which I doubt there are very many, I am sure expected me to put some of the Devin+Darious posts in, but I didn't really want to, as they weren't written up to the standards. This post shows us that Devin is determined to find a solution to save those she fights for, if this solution means the end of her, she does not care. Then it tells us that, though she may doubt it, there are those who care for her. Darious appears, out of the dark night, and saves Devin, though he almost had his arm removed to do it. ************************************************************************************************************************** #3: Two Friends .Devin Acare Unregistered User (8/22/03 10:53 pm) Titled: As Jason Departs -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The day was like this: Jason came from the council to talk to Ash and found Devin residing at Hogwarts. Batting her eyelashes and giving a smile she had kept her old friend from Ash, and kept the truth from the council knowing how 'they' would handle it. Now darkness came over the land and it was time for this humble vampire to return home once more. So two old friends stood, face to face at the edge of the forest as the moon rose, ready for yet anoter good-bye as if the first hadn't been enough for them. Jace: "I suppose I shall be on my way; to get to cloud city before dawn breaks" he said in his harsh accent. "I will miss you love, these fairwells have alway been most difficult for me" Dev: "These?" Devin asked softly Jace: "The ones that have involved you" Clarified the tall boy. "Before I go I must ask you..." Started Jason Dev: "Yes?" *Devin asked her eyes widened not knowing exactly what to expect.* JAce: "Do you like it here? Because if you don't, love, I'm sure I can get you a pardon back to " The boy stated quickly Dev: *Devin gave a bit of a nervous laugh, that was not exactly what she had been imagining.* "Oh Hogwarts? It's fine, really... it works for me real well." *Devin smiled. Devin looked nice usually (when she tried) but the moonlight made her look perfect... for some reason in the sun she never quite fit into the picture, but here in the moonlight she fit perfectly.* "Well, you best be going. I'm thinking of droping by the vamp. world around the holidays, should I plan on dropping by the Bhersaks?" JAce: Smileing broadly. "Most certainly, I wouldn't have it any other way. We'll have a room ready for you, love. You know how my family loves you, you are always welcome... always." Dev: "Thanks so much" *Devin stood on her tip-toes and rapped her arms around Jason's neck for one last hug.* Jace: Jason Hugged her tight lifting her up and spinning her once, then he put her back on the ground. "You're velcome" he whispered. Dev: *Laughed loving every moment of the hug.* "Until next time, love?" *She said doing a bit of a courtsy* JAce: "Untill next time." Jace replied with a bit of a bow and jumped into the air rapidly flying higher. Dev: "Take care you oaf!" *She called with a hint of a laugh into the night air* JAce: "Always do love! Stay well!" Dev: *Shakes her head and begins to walk along the edge of the forrest until a shower of white rose pedals falls apon her. Looking up she saw Jason above her.* "You Freak!" *She called with a laugh and he was gone.* So the two friend parted each with a smile and an unlikely girl danced about the edge of the forest, rose pedals in her hair, and a a joyfull hum from her mouth. ************************************************************************************************************************* I just liked how this one was written, honestly. It tells us Devin is very human, that she has friends and at the same time we get to see her happy which is a definite rarity. This kind of smoothe easy-going posting style is a little new for me. I think I like the atmosphere it adds when you write longer more elaborate posts... just maybe this is the begining of better posting from Misa. ************************************************************************************************************************** #2: Good in Devin? *sniffs* by Spark "It must be sad human. We all have our chalenges to face I supose. Everyone has a story if they chose to tell it or not." *sits on his hind legs* "Perhaps my story will entertain you human. Well to begin, I was alone as a tiny Kapat, hugry and cold. I don't remember it much anymore, an odd rather large vampire took me and put me in a cage. He ran a petshop I believe, they didn't fead the pets at the shop much and everyone would rather have the kapats with shiny golden coats or white spots than a kapat with shiny black fur and a red tuff. A girl came in one day, she did not talk and was lead by a boy who seemed to be in some relation. The man asked the girl what kind of pet she wanted, she did not respond. The boy knelt down beside her "owl" he said, she shook her head no. "rat, spider, toad" he said. she shook her head no. This process continued he would mention pets and she would shake her head. "Kapat" he finialy said. She nodded in agreement. The man took her into our room, the room holding the kapats. She wandered around and evetualy stoped infront of me. She pointed at my cage. The large petshop owner told her I was loud and annoying that she shouldn't pick me, but she just kept poiting at me. So the girl bought me, and being my rightful owner would be properly called keeper, as all owners are. Time went on she began to talk, but in a harsh tone rather than her sweet silent eyes, but it didn't matter. This girl took wonderful care of me, I never got ill and no matter what any say I say that I'm her best friend in the world. The boy, witch I later came to call crispy, is your Marrs. and the girl I came to love as a mother, is the one you know as Devin" ************************************************************************************************************************** This post located main title *sits in a chair* on page 2. Spark tells this story to entertain the silent Jen. Spark and Jen have a rather long conversation at this point where Spark seems conviced in proveing Devin's inner light. This post is probably the most supportive when we learn of a time when Devin was very different the post you see below comes a little later with another atempt to think better of his keeper (continued below next post) ************************************************************************************************************************** *once again studies the writing* by Spark "Creatures, of all race have always misunderstood. They say things like me, things like keeper, should be happy for anything. Others, like you, say I am the gift. However, no one has ever found the truth to say it. The truth is she's a gift to me. You see keepers outside, her... shell. Like a package, it is rapped in brown paper, not that pretty to see rough to touch but inside can be... A wonderful surprise. I can't say I've seen her be entirely who she is inside, but I've seen enough to know. Keeper is alone, and hurting. Yet, afriad to cry. Don't pitty me because I'm loyal her, pitty her for being loyal to me." *looks at Jen hopeing she accepted the statement to be as prefound as he did* ************************************************************************************************************************** (main title: *sits in a chair* Slytherin Common room pg.2) Right before this Jen wrote 'she should be happy to have you' After awhile of posts such as these Jen seems to posibly soften to the thought than Devin is better than she thought. Then On the next page you saw the next post. ************************************************************************************************************************** *walks into the common room* by Devin "Spark!" she calls "What are you up to now? If your trying to tell your life story again, I swear, seriously who cares to hear the saga of a squirel who fell into a bucket of paint!" *sees spark and eyes flare she points to the ground by her feet and spark scurries to her side.* "It's comming closer, It's not just me. They smell it too. Vamp, for sure. Spark you weren't there and this is important, do you here me IMPORTANT! What if it's Flights clan huh?!" she jabbers at him ************************************************************************************************************************* So as you might assume Devin destroyed once again the thought of her being good. However, I'm sure spark will try again. I liked this sequence. It spoke of love and loyalty, and showed Spark is obviously a social creature. Then just as you think something good is coming from the constant 'bad girl' we are struck down with a humourous but still rude reply. ************************************************************************************************************************* #1: Soap Opera .*smiles sadly* by Jesmond " Yeah, thats pretty cool. When I first went to Beauxbaxtons, people rejected to me because I was British. I know it's not the same thing, but the french can sometimes be narrowminded. I was kinda lonely the begining of my first year, then about six monthes into the school year someone walked into my life. He bacame my best friend that year. We went everywhere together for the next four years. The summer after fourth year, we couldnt hold back our feelings for each other, we started going out and after that we were inseperable even more than before. Everything was wonderful for the next year and half. Then Mum got word the she was needed back at the Ministry and that we needed to move back to Britian. When I told him, he looked so broken hearted and I felt the same way. A couple of weeks later He broke up with me, said that he didnt want a long distance relationship. My heart broke even more. He told me that he would still write to me. I have been here for two months and I still havent heard from him. I immerse myself in my studies to rid myself of the empty hole that he left." Registered User 2/26/03 12:43:03 am Reply *tears in her eyes* by Vanlerie "That is so sad. It's like a soap opera, but not half as funny." *begins to cry* Unregistered User 2/26/03 7:41:46 am Reply ************************************************************************************************************************** Just for common knowledge this post came from the Ravenclaw common room under the main title *walks down from boys dorm* page 3.. Anyway this post came right after Vanlerie told Jesmond/us of her friendship that had been broken between her crush and the first person to except her (they went to a different school, didn't have time to post, later after possibly reading these posts returned) Jesmond tells us of a broken relationship and explians why she burries herslef in her studies, I found this story rather sad, then Vanlerie replies in all her airyness "That is so sad. It's like a soap opera, but not half as funny." then she cries for her friend. I believe Vanlerie's comments will never stop making me laugh. ************************************************************************************************************************** |
