My name is Jonel Stancu.
I was born in a beatiful village called Lokve, Yugoslavia.
After finishing my hight school in Pancevo, I went to Timisoara (Romania) to study Electronics and Telecommunications at "Politehnica" University of Timisoara.
I have graduated in 1997.
After graduation I have started PhD program in Digital Image Processing (Image Compression) at the same University.
My PhD program is supervised by Dr. C.I. Toma and Dr. Z. Bojkovic (University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia), worldwide known professors and very nice people!
By that time I was working as research assistant in the multimedia lab.
In fall of 1999 I came to USA for research in Digital Image Processing lab at University of Texas at Arlington. I was working under the supervision of Dr. K.R. Rao one of the most famous researchers in Digital Image Processing and also beautiful man.
In spring semester 2000 I have started Masters program in Electrical Engineering at University of Texas at Arlington under the supervision of Dr. V. Devarajan, worldwide known researcher and excellent person. Also, I was working in the Virtual Environment lab as research assistant. In this lab I was working on algorithm development for 2D to 3D translation applications and on Collaborative Virtual Prototyping applications for the Advance Technology Project. Also, in Fall semester 2000 I was working on volume rendering for virtual surgery applications as part of Advance Research Project of UTA.
From January 2001 until May 2001 I was working at NORTEL Networks on wireless communication project.
I have graduated from my Masters in Electrical Engineering program in December 2002.
In the present I am working at SPRINT PCS as an RF Engineer for wireless CDMA networks design and optimization.
In all these years of my life I was supported by my parents Todor and Juljana, excellent parents and very nice humans.
At the end I would like to mention my very best friends with whom I shared the good and the bad times of my life.
