| Answer: | We're young women between the ages of 11 and 20.� We're members of basketball teams, Track teams, Church groups, and Honor societies.� We go to grade schools, junior highs, high schools and colleges.� We sing in the choir, we play in the band, and we all have a lot of fun together.� We are bound by the common philosophy that everyone can get along together, and that we should all try and do something good for each other, our country, and our families every day, and that we can have fun doing it! |
| Question: | What do you do as a member of Job's Daughters? |
| Answer: | We honor a rich tradition and heritage that has been a part of Job's Daughters since 1920. But most importantly, we want you to have fun doing the things you like to do. Throughout the year, Job's Daughters plan and share a lot of fun activities. Arts and crafts, photography, sewing, and creative writing are just a few of the activities we enjoy. Also, girls participate in sports including soccer, softball, volleyball, swimming and bowling, and we like to sing and dance, too! |
| Question: | How do your members help the community? |
| Answer: | We play an important role in serving the community. Such as visiting hospitals and homes for the elderly to offer friendship to people who might be lonely and sad. We have food drives and other activities to provide for the less fortunate. Our charity, the Hearing Impaired Kid's Endowment (The HIKE Fund), provides hearing assistive devices for children in need. Our popular "hikes for HIKE," provide a special charitable service to our community. Our work with hearing-impaired children has led many groups, called Bethels, to learn sign language. We are proud to be "kids helping kids! " |
| Question: | What will I learn as a member of Job's Daughters? |
| Answer: | Job's Daughters is a self-governing group. Each Bethel elects an Honored Queen and the Officers to lead them for a six month term. The Honored Queen and Officers help to run the group and take care of business such as keeping track of finances, planning events like fund raising, social and fun activities, all with the guidance of adult volunteers.
The experience you get as a member of Job's Daughters will help you now and in the future. Job's Daughters learn how to work together to achieve their goals, how to raise money and spend it wisely, how to speak to an audience, the fundamentals of parliamentary procedure and how important community service is to everyone. Education is very important in Job's Daughters. None of our activities should interfere with schoolwork or home responsibilities. Each year the organization awards scholarships at the international and regional level to help deserving girls achieve their educational goals. Most importantly, Job's Daughters teaches members about friendship and respect for other people and cultures. Job's Daughters has over 20,000 members in Canada, Australia, the Philippines, Brazil and the United States. As a member, you have the opportunity to travel and meet girls from other Bethels and other lands. |

| Answer: | Any of our members will tell you, it's FRIENDSHIP! Many of the friends you make in Job's Daughters you will keep for the rest of your life. Our members also love the activities, because they are so much fun! |

| Question: | What is the Ducklings Club? |
| Answer: | Ducklings is a club for girls ages 8 to 15, and is sponsored by Osseo Job�s Daughters. We hold our meetings once a month except for the months of June, July, and August. We meet on the 4th Thursday of each month at 7pm. Parents and eligible girls interested in membership are always welcome. The purpose of our club is to bring together young girls to learn, to help our community; to encourage self confidence, responsibility and respect for parents; and to have fun! Our meetings are short and are always followed by a fun activity. We have joint activities with Osseo Job�s Daughters at least once a term. To be a member of Ducklings is to be part of a group that promotes friendship among girls and confidence in themselves. As a member you will learn skills that will help you throughout your life. You will become part of a club that serves the community. Most importantly, you will have fun while doing it. |
