| June Word From the Prez We might be looking at rainy days ahead, but dont let that stop you from planning a hiking, cycling or some other outdoor activity. It is easy enough to hike with an umbrella, or it may be a good excuse to try out that rain gear you seldom get a chance to use. If your hike ends at an onsen, then hey, what more could one ask for? If it is raining really hard, it might be a good time to kill a few hours pouring over maps and guide- books to plan for the dream trip you have always wanted to take to the Japan alps. The point is that the IOC functions only because members come forward and take the initiative to organize events. If you havent organ- ized something recently, please look at your calendar and pick a weekend when you are free then let Chris, our terrific activities coordinator know your plans. If you will be out of the country (like I will until June 21) then have a safe trip. Come to think of it, that rainy day might be the perfect time to get your outdoor activities insurance in order so that your hike in the alps can be done with peace of mind. Take care, get out and get active. Best regards, - Jacquelyn Go Back to News Bits Archive |
