A documentary about the history of business management, economics and the insurance industry in Bulgaria in the period between 1878 and the present. It attempts to trace trends and tendencies in regards to insurance, covers the how and why, touches upon some insurance hoaxes, tackles the issue of racketeering, and tries to define the purpose and dignity in the vocations related to insurance.
The script of the film has also been used to compile and publish a textbook for university students and instructors. The film as well as the textbook are one of a kind and so far have no equivalent.
In 1936 Insurance becomes a university discipline, taught for the first time in the D. Tsenov Academy of Economics, Svishtov.

The documentary is dedicted to the life of the renowned philantropist and public figure Dimitar Tsenov who built the Academy of Economics in Svishtov, BULGARIA. The bequest he left for the public good, with its value of 50 mln leva, is the second largest after the one left by Evlogy Georgiev. The film tells the story of the life and the ascending trade career of D. Tsenov, of the history of the exceptional donation he left behind, as well as the establishment of the Academy, which subsequently has educated many professionals in all fields of economics, commerce, and business management. |
